A man of 60, who receive care in the San Juan de Dios Hospital, yesterday became the second suspected case of chikungunya virus.
Roberto Castro, Surveillance Department of the Ministry of Health reported that it is a resident of Santa Ana de San José, who returned last week from Dominican Republic.
According to Castro, the lord presented with fever and joint pain, so he was transferred to the Red Cross hospital.
A possible case of virus originating from Asia, called chikungunya, its epidemiological link, for Dominican Republic is, at this time, one of the countries with the highest incidence of the disease on the continent was considered.
Besides this man, a three year-old from Brokers (Puntarenas), remains suspicious of having contracted the disease.
