Nicaragua: Avanza virus "A" and the government declares a health emergency

On Saturday President Daniel Ortega Saavedra said he proceeded to declare a state of health emergency because the human influenza is spreading fast in the country officially became known after 4 deaths by influenza A virus H1N1. It is the second time that the authorities in Nicaragua put the decree since 4 months ago released the first sanitary disposal. The experts point out that official figures are not credible and could be infected by Influenza A.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Enrique Beteta, said the health institution is not lying about the actual data about the dead by the Human Influenza.
He acknowledged that at the community level where we have dropped their guard to combat virus "A" H1N1. However, there are 20 thousand fellow willing to make house to house visits in Managua to detect cases and persons at risk, he said.

"We have the president's mandate 24 hours of being attentive to the behavior of influenza, we see numbers, we see no statistics, we are seeing Nicaraguans that are being affected and it is our responsibility to timely respond ... We want to prevent more deaths as possible," said Nicaragua's Health Minister Guillermo Gonzalez to different media.
The President Daniel Ortega and the Health Minister, Guillermo Gonzalez, are of the opinion that there had been an oversight between the Councils of Citizen Power, CPC, as it had lowered its guard. A local newspaper recently noted that physicians specializing in respiratory diseases said there was an underreporting of cases of people who died because it was making little sampling.
President Ortega said last night that "It is normal, time is running, they run the months, going to the fourth month, and people will trust, we're confident and we must attend to other tasks and lose sight that this is a battle we must not neglect, "he argued, insisting he was concerned about the rapid spread of influenza in words.
The Health Minister said that preventive measures be taken several actions among people in every part of the country. Over the CPC and communal movements said they intend to also make a census of pregnant women, the chronically ill and diabetics, asthmatics and people of older patients who are at-risk population.
"Neighborhood by neighborhood, district by district, we will conduct the census, because we will look at the population at risk, because in them the virus can be more serious, every family that has within it a diabetic, a pregnant woman, a person with cancer, asthma, "that this happens much in children and adolescents, chronic illness or take extreme measures to prevent because they are at risk," he said.
There are 900 cases of virus-affected "A"
Gonzalez said that in the last 24 hours there were 32 new cases of influenza A. With this new figure, health authorities recorded a total of 853 positive cases.
Of that amount 92 per cent "clinically" is out of danger. "This means that there is minimal proportion of people in medical surveillance," said the head of the Nicaraguan health.
As is known Minsa currently has 100 thousand treatments for adults and 10 thousand children. Gonzalez said he applied a thousand 300 to several cases, remembering that not only are treating those affected but also their contacts.
A curious fact was known in the country. The wife of former president Arnoldo Alem?n Lacayo, Maria Fernanda Flores Spears, and her daughter, was hit by bird "A" Human Influenza. In Costa Rica President Oscar Arias was attacked by the virus. The politicians who deal with large numbers of people indoors are exposed to the virus AH1N1.
