The authorities of the Health Ministry confirmed on Monday two new victims of influenza A H1N1 in Honduras.
Those killed are "a girl with less than a year old and a woman aged 43, of which no details have to know what risk factors were associated," said Dr. Marco Pinel, chief of regional surveillance Ministry of Health.
Confirmed cases of influenza reported amounted to 429 Pinel. The previous Friday, authorities had announced that those infected nationwide totaled 404.
Chest hospital in Tegucigalpa is investigating two cases "highly" suspicious symptoms and is in "serious condition" and another at the Mario Catarino Rivas in San Pedro Sula. "All three are likely to die," he noted the doctor.
On August 28 the deaths were reported 9 and 10 by the deadly flu. A child of one and a half Macuelizo originating municipality in the department of Santa Barbara, and a woman from the south of the country were the victims.
The World Health Organization (WHO) accounts for 2.837 deaths so far worldwide, while also stressing that no longer are counting all cases due to the wide spread of the disease.
The positive cases of influenza A (H1N1) for laboratory analysis by the WHO joined census 254.206, but this figure falls far short of reality, since the most affected countries no longer perform systematic analysis.
