The hospitals of the Ministry of Health have reassigned areas for critical zones. Moments when the country enters one of the most critical months of the pandemic that will put the health system on the ropes in terms of the response it can provide to the largest number of those infected, the Ministry is seeking space for those who require care in intensive care.
At the national level, there are 504 mechanical fans between the Minsa and the Caja de Seguro Social facilities, in addition to private hospitals. Of these, 60% would be available if required for Covid-19 patients.
The Minsa is acquiring 100 ventilators in the next two weeks for the modular hospital equipped with 100 intensive care beds. In addition to this, indicated Dr. Julio Sandoval, insistent and coordinator of issues of Covid-19 of the Minsa, in 4 weeks the City of Health will enable 56 intensive and semi-intensive care beds. Along these same lines, the National Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation enabled 60 ward beds and 10 semi-intensive beds. 100 beds are also available in the ward at the Chicho F?brega hospital for mild and moderate cases along with pneumonia.
Despite the fact that the ministry is taking measures to expand care in the ward and intensive care, they are concerned about the lack of human resources in these areas, since the intensivists in the country are few. "At the national level there are 50 specialists who observe patients, some in various hospitals with strenuous 12-hour days," the doctor told La Estrella de Panam?.

In another tweet, the infectologist specifies the following: Many countries in the region draw up a list of recoveries without taking into account 2 negative tests after clear improvement of symptoms (scientific definition); Chile even places the deceased as recovered (in complete disagreement); We will soon give figures like other countries do.
