Confirmed cases of covid-19 increased to six people who tested positive, reported President Alejandro Giammattei.

Two of the cases were transferred from the airport to the Villa Nueva hospital, while two of the new infections are family members of the person who died on March 15.

Two other cases were confirmed from people in quarantine.

On Wednesday the Executive will present the emergency plan to Congress with a budget expansion and economic reactivation of the country for the deputies to approve.

On Friday March 13 they confirmed the first case of covid-19, the infected is a 27-year-old man who returned from a trip from Madrid, with a stopover in Bogot? and San Salvador.

Mayors must remain calm and avoid sending erroneous messages to the population so as not to cause confusion, the president also warned.

At 20:00, another national network is planned to inform the population about the progress.
    Border closure

The president also announced that he will close the entry of foreigners for the next two weeks. "We are going to close the country's borders for the next 15 days, the last flight will enter today before 24 hours," said Giammattei.

Also by land, only Guatemalans and people with residence may enter.

The president also said he ordered officials not to appear at congressional citations.

"I am requesting a precautionary measure before a court so as not to attend more than 114 times that health officials have had to go to Congress to answer questions," said Giammattei.

Minutes later, the block of the National Hope Unit (UNE) announced that it was suspending citations to health officials.

The Industry Park will also be enabled to begin serving the quarantine, if the confirmed cases are to be extended.

The president added that on the same flight, "from Aerom?xico, five Salvadorans were coming and they were immediately forwarded to their country of origin."

In the afternoon, the president offered to spread a message on the national network and stressed that "it is time to deal, it is not time to worry, that we do not panic, that we have to act with sanity, with measure and continue with the measures preventive measures that had been so successful to this day ”.
