El Salvador's Minister of Health confirms that hospitals are at the limit
              By Sputnik
              - May 29, 2020
              - inEnvironment

In El Salvaor the Health System is on the verge of collapse, warns the Minister of Health.

San Salvador, May 29 (Sputnik) .- El Salvador's health minister, Francisco Alab?, denied this Friday that the national hospital network has collapsed due to the increase in cases of covid-19, but admitted that the system is on the limit .

"The system has not yet collapsed, but we declared Phase 3 (massive contagion) in light of the evidence that we are at the limit," Alab? said at a press conference, in which he announced measures such as home admission for mild and asymptomatic cases.

According to the most recent balance sheet of the Government of El Salvador, a total of 2,278 confirmed cases, 1,647 suspects, 1,015 recovered and 42 died from the disease, which keeps the country in a state of emergency.

"In phase 3 of the contagion we have a complex situation, there is a massive contagion within the territory and that characteristic makes the health system insufficient to provide care: El Salvador is already in this phase," added Alab?.

The official reported that anyone with symptoms of respiratory diseases must go to health centers to be evaluated and diagnosed, and the Emergency Medical System will be for critically ill patients.

President Nayib Bukele admitted the previous morning that the new coronavirus was faster than the search and containment teams, although he noted that the contagion curve has not yet been triggered.

The contagion curve has not yet triggered. Many countries take drastic measures in Phase 3. We took them much earlier. A strict quarantine of 15 days would break the chain of infections, "said Bukele in his account on the social network Twitter.

The Ministry of Health established new regulations that medical personnel must abide by for the treatment of cases in Phase 3, decreed when the pandemic presents a rapid rise in infections and, therefore, hospitals are saturated. (Sputnik)

According to the latest update of COVID-19 cases in El Salvador, carried out by the President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele, the country has 2,705 confirmed cases.

However, in recent days there has been a drop in cases. Yesterday 52 were confirmed, being another day that there were more patients cured than new infections (63), but according to the president, it is still too premature to speak of a flattening of the curve.

On the other hand, yesterday 3 people also died from the disease, while 180 were quarantined, healthy towards their homes.

The details of the new infections is as follows:

El Salvador announces quarantine until June 15
                        June 04, 2020 - 10:06
The Government expanded again via quarantine decree with a view to an economic reopening that the Executive is resisting

                        Europa Press

El Salvador's Ministry of Health declared a home quarantine until June 15, as part of the push between the Government and Congress on the necessary measures to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

In a new decree, the Ministry of Health of El Salvador declared "the entire national territory as an epidemic area subject to sanitary control", so that "the entire population must remain in domiciliary protection and can only leave their home or residence in the authorized cases. "

The authorized exits are reduced to those essential for the purchase of food or medicine and the care of children or the elderly, as well as veterinary emergencies, among others, and personnel from ministries, the Legislative Assembly, the media and workers in the agricultural, industrial and industrial sectors. construction in El Salvador.

This supposes some flexibility with respect to previous decrees in El Salvador, since it allows more activities and expands the authorized exits without being linked to the last number of the identity card.

With this, the Government again extended via decree a confinement that Parliament had only extended until June 8 with a view to an economic reopening that the Executive is resisting. "There will be no opening of anything without first lowering the curve," President Nayib Bukele said last week, according to the Salvadoran newspaper El Mundo.

Bukele himself reported on Twitter on Thursday that in the last 24 hours there have been 76 new cases of coronavirus, for a total of 2,781, and two other deaths from COVID-19, so there are already 51 in El Salvador. In addition, 1,208 patients have overcome the disease.

For Bukele, these figures show that "it is still too premature to say that the curve is flattening", despite the fact that "the numbers have been stable or down for several days." "The only way to improve these numbers is to meet the quarantine one hundred percent," he insisted.

El Salvador Registers Increase in Serious and Critical Cases of Covid-19
San Salvador, Jun 9 (Prensa Latina) Serious and critical cases of Covid-19 in El Salvador amounted to 303, the health authorities of this Central American nation confirmed today.

According to the figures of the government accountant, there are currently 200 people reported as serious, 103 in critical condition and 58 died from the pandemic, which is in the phase of massive contagion.

The recent detection of some 80 positive cases in a nursing home in this capital increases concern, amid alerts from the Executive about a possible collapse of the hospital system.

"The curve has been stable, but new infections are greater than the number of patients cured per day, so the health system will be closer to collapse," said President Nayib Bukele.

El Salvador currently registers 3,191 cases of Covid-19, of which 58 died and 1,413 have been recovered.
