  • Costa Rica reports 51224 cases and 543 deaths
    CCSS may make use of intensive care units in private centers for admission of COVID-19 patients
    Wednesday, September 9, 2020 . Under the regulatory framework empowered by the General Health Law, the Costa Rican Social Security Fund will be able to make use of the intensive care beds available in the private sector in order to expand the hospitalization capacity of COVID-19 patients.
    This will gradually and preliminarily add 22 ICU beds that are available in private hospitals such as Cl?nica B?blica, Hospital CIMA and Cl?nica Cat?lica.
    The possibility of using these private ICU services is empowered by decree that will be published this week.

    The Vice Minister of Health, Pedro Gonz?lez, held a meeting this morning with the representatives of these private centers and the Metropolitan Hospital, grouped in the Costa Rican Chamber of Health, who were totally willing to join the care of the pandemic.
    COVID-19 data
    As of September 9, the country registers 1,327 new cases of COVID-19, of which 261 are by epidemiological link and 1,066 by laboratory, for a total of 51,224 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 100 years. There are 24,173 women and 27,051 men, of which 40,330 are Costa Rican and 10,894 are foreigners.
    By age we have: 43,366 adults, 3,287 older adults and 4,455 minors, 116 are under investigation.
    There are 19,544 recovered people, of which 9,065 are women and 10,479 are men, by age we have: 16,485 adults, 1,046 older adults, 1,963 minors and 50 are under investigation.
    509 people are hospitalized, 237 of them in intensive care with an age range of 23 to 91 years.
    For today 12 regrettable deaths are reported: nine men, and three women, with an age range of 48 to 92 years.
    In total, there are 543 deaths related to COVID-19: 205 women and 338 men, with an age range of 19 to 100 years. By age there are 189 adults and 354 older adults.

      Thursday, September 10, 2020 . As of September 10, the country registers 1,325 new cases of COVID-19, of which 262 are by epidemiological link and 1,063 by laboratory, for a total of 52,549 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 100 years. There are 24,827 women and 27,722 men, of which 41,483 are Costa Rican and 11,066 are foreigners.
      By age we have: 44,504 adults, 3,390 older adults and 4,538 minors, 117 are under investigation.
      20,322 recovered people were counted, of which 9,439 are women and 10,883 are men, by age we have: 17,160 adults, 1,084 older adults, 2,023 minors and 55 are under investigation.
      524 people are hospitalized, 219 of them in intensive care with an age range of 24 to 96 years.
      For today 24 unfortunate deaths are reported: 15 men, and nine women, with an age range of 52 to 92 years.
      In total, there are 567 deaths related to COVID-19: 214 women and 353 men, with an age range of 19 to 100 years. By age they are 195 adults and 372 older adults.

        Friday, September 11, 2020 . As of September 11, the country registers 1,420 new cases of COVID-19, of which 253 are by epidemiological link and 1,167 by laboratory, for a total of 53,969 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 100 years. There are 25,506 women and 28,463 men, of whom 42,694 are Costa Rican and 11,275 are foreigners.
        By age we have: 45,744 adults, 3,475 older adults and 4,636 minors, 114 are under investigation.
        20,710 recovered people are counted, of which 9,631 are women and 11,079 are men, by age we have: 17,495 adults, 1,100 older adults, 2,059 minors and 56 are under investigation
        534 people are hospitalized, 221 of them in intensive care with an age range of 24 to 96 years.
        For today 16 unfortunate deaths are reported: nine men, and seven women, with an age range of 31 to 94 years.
        In total there are 583 deaths related to COVID-19: 221 women and 362 men, with an age range of 19 to 100 years. By age there are 198 adults and 385 older adults.

          Saturday, September 12, 2020 . As of September 12, the country registers 1,485 new cases of COVID-19, of which 224 are by epidemiological link and 1,261 by laboratory, for a total of 55,454 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 100 years. There are 26,236 women and 29,218 men, of whom 43,980 are Costa Rican and 11,474 are foreigners.
          By age we have: 47,038 adults, 3,549 older adults and 4,753 minors, 114 are under investigation.
          20,928 recovered people are counted, of which 9,739 are women and 11,189 are men, by age we have: 17,674 adults, 1,109 older adults, 2,088 minors and 57 are under investigation
          564 people are hospitalized, 225 of them in intensive care with an age range of 24 to 96 years.
          For today seven unfortunate deaths are reported: four men, and three women, with an age range of 36 to 88 years.
          In total, there are 590 deaths related to COVID-19: 224 women and 366 men, with an age range of 19 to 100 years. By age there are 202 adults and 388 older adults.
