      - 10 lab-confirmed cases of influenza have been reported since October 1st, 2010.

      - 4.8% of patients presented with ILI symptoms; with a maximum of 10.5% in Eastern Rural.


      - The age group of 0-4 years shows the highest rate of ILI cases with 2 of 15 cases presenting with ILI symptoms.



      - 5 Hospitalizations due to laboratory confirmed influenza



      - 1 ICU admission due to laboratory confirmed influenza


      - 0 Deaths due to laboratory confirmed influenza

            Summary:

            No NL influenza samples were tested at the National Microbiology

            Lab in week 17. The NL sentinel ILI consultation rate decreased. Influenza
            outbreaks were reported in two RHAs (LTC facility in Western; Community in
            Eastern).

            0 samples were tested for influenza this week in NL
            203 lab-confirmed cases of influenza have been reported since Oct. 1st, 2010
            187 were type A (114 H3N2, 6 H1N1, 67 untyped); 16 were type B
