    45% of cases are among school-aged children (ages 5-19)

    Canadian Influenza activity continues to increase gradually; activity remains low in the Territories and in a few other regions across the country

          HealthLine and Google Flu influenza indicators have increased dramatically in week 9, but remain within expected levels for this time of year

          Influenza activity in Canada continued to increase in week 9 compared to previous weeks

              HealthLine and Google Flu indicators have decreased from previous weeks

              Circulating influenza B in NL appears to be a match to the recommended influenza B component of the 2011/2012 influenza vaccine; influenza A viruses in NL have yet to be characterized, but nationally there appears to be a good match to the influenza A component of the vaccine
