    Summary


    Low influenza activity and nine positive influenza detections in New Brunswick


    In New Brunswick, the ILI consultation rate in week 1 increased compared to the previous week and was below the
    expected range for this time of year. There have been 9 positive influenza detections during week 1, one pandemic
    influenza A (H1N1), five influenza A (H3) and three influenza A unsubtyped. No ILI/influenza outbreaks were reported for
    week 1.

    Summary

    Low influenza activity and eleven positive influenza detections in New Brunswick

    In New Brunswick, the ILI consultation rate in week 2 decreased compared to the previous week and was below the
    expected range for this time of year. There have been 11 positive influenza detections during week 2, five pandemic
    influenza A (H1N1) and six influenza A (H3). No ILI/influenza outbreaks were reported for week 2.

      Summary

      In New Brunswick, influenza activity is increasing but within expected levels

      In New Brunswick, the ILI consultation rate in week 3 increased compared to the previous week and was within the expected range for this time of year. There have been 25 positive influenza detections during week 3, eight pandemic influenza A (H1N1), fourteen influenza A (H3) two unsubtyped influenza A and one influenza B.

      Two ILI school outbreaks were reported for week 3, both in Region 6.

        Summary

        In New Brunswick, influenza activity is increasing but within expected levels

        In New Brunswick, the ILI consultation rate in week 4 decreased slightly compared to the previous week and was below the expected range for this time of year.


        There have been 65 positive influenza detections during week 4, thirteen pandemic influenza A (H1N1), thirty-eight influenza A (H3), thirteen unsubtyped influenza A and one influenza B.

        Five ILI school outbreaks were reported for week 4 in Regions 4, 5, 6 & 7, and one influenza outbreak was reported in a long-term care facility in Region 4.

          In New Brunswick, influenza activity remained stable and was within expected levels

          In New Brunswick, the ILI consultation rate in week 5 increased compared to the previous week and was within the
          expected range for this time of year. There have been 73 positive influenza detections during week 5, nineteen pandemic
          influenza A (H1N1), forty-five influenza A (H3), two unsubtyped influenza A and seven influenza B. Seven ILI school
          outbreaks were reported for week 5 in Regions 1, 4, 5 & 7, and two influenza outbreaks were reported in long-term care

          facilities in Regions 1 & 4.

            In New Brunswick, influenza activity slightly increased (2 indicators) and was within expected levels

            In New Brunswick, the ILI consultation rate in week 6 decreased slightly compared to the previous week and was within
            the expected range for this time of year. There have been 100 positive influenza detections during week 6, twenty-six
            pandemic influenza A (H1N1), sixty influenza A (H3), six unsubtyped influenza A and eight influenza B. Ten ILI school
            outbreaks were reported for week 6 in Regions 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7, and two influenza outbreaks were reported in long-term care
            facilities in Region 4.

              In New Brunswick, influenza activity increased (3 indicators) and was within expected levels
              In New Brunswick, the ILI consultation rate in week 7 remained similar to the previous week and was slightly below the
              expected range for this time of year. There have been 180 positive influenza detections during week 7, forty-two pandemic
              influenza A (H1N1), ninety-nine influenza A (H3), twenty-nine unsubtyped influenza A and ten influenza B. Fifteen ILI
              school outbreaks were reported for week 7 in all regions except region 4, three influenza outbreaks were reported in longterm

              care facilities in regions 2, 3 & 4, and one outbreak was reported in other facilities in region 1.

                In New Brunswick, the ILI consultation rate in week 8 remained similar to the previous week and was slightly below the
                expected range for this time of year. There have been 114 positive influenza detections during week 8, eighteen pandemic
                influenza A (H1N1), seventy-three influenza A (H3), fourteen unsubtyped influenza A and nine influenza B. Nineteen ILI

                  influenza A (H1N1), one hundred and sixteen influenza A (H3), ten unsubtyped influenza A and eight influenza B. Four ILI
                  school outbreaks were reported for week 9 in regions 2, 5 & 7, two influenza outbreaks were reported in long-term care

                    expected range for this time of year. There have been 130 positive influenza detections during week 10, eight pandemic

                    ILI/influenza outbreaks were reported in week 10, 2 in long-term care facilities in region 1 and 1 in other facility in region 3.
