FREDERICTON -- New Brunswick's chief medical officer of health says four people in the province have died from illness associated with influenza.
Dr. Eilish Cleary says there have been more than 300 confirmed cases this flu season, which is similar to this time last year.
Cleary says the predominant flu strain this year is H1N1, which can cause serious illness to vulnerable people including the elderly and people with other illnesses.
She says 51 people have been hospitalized, 15 of whom had to be admitted to intensive care units.
