  • Canada's H1N1 Cases Low for End of August

Most Canadian schools did not start back until 8 September unlike the schools in the southeastern US that started back in early August.

For the week of August 23 to 29, there were only 13 new cases in Canada and just one death from Pandemic H1N1 (Ontario). The maps showing overall influenza activity levels showed no provinces with widespread activity during Week 34 (Aug 23 to 29).

Canada has lost a total of 72 people to the Pandemic H1N1 with the highest losses in Ontario and Quebec.
