    Ontario marks lowest COVID-19 daily case count in months with 306 infections

    TORONTO -- Ontario health officials logged 306 new COVID-19 infections on Wednesday, marking the lowest daily case count since the beginning of August.

    The new cases represent a significant decrease from the 390 infections reported on Tuesday and the 458 cases logged on the holiday Monday.

    The last time Ontario logged a daily case count this low was on Aug. 5, when health officials reported 213 infections...

    .... On Wednesday, Ontario officials also confirmed 12 additional deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the total death tally since the beginning of the pandemic to 9,804.

    There are 242 people being treated for COVID-19 in Ontario hospitals, officials say. Of those patients, 153 are in intensive care...

      Ontario sees 417 new COVID-19 cases as ICU burden ticks upward

      Ontario reported 417 new cases of COVID-19 and the deaths of three more people with the illness on Thursday.

      The number of people being treated for COVID-related sickness in the province's intensive care units ticked upward to 158 from 153, a second day of increases. About 64 per cent of those patients needed ventilators.

      Critical Care Services Ontario says 13 adults with COVID-related symptoms were admitted to ICUs on Wednesday, and the seven-day average of COVID-19 patients in ICUs stands at 153.

      Meanwhile, the consistent decline in new cases that began around Sept. 5 continued with today's figures. The seven-day average of daily cases fell to 476, its lowest point since mid-August...

        Ontario reports 496 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths

        Ontario is reporting 496 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the provincial case total to 593,933.

        Of the 496 new cases recorded, the data showed 280 were unvaccinated people, 20 were partially vaccinated people, 162 were fully vaccinated people and for 34 people the vaccination status was unknown...

        ...Ontario reported 265 people in general hospital wards with COVID-19 (up by 11 from the previous day) with 163 patients in intensive care units (up by five) and 134 patients in intensive care units on a ventilator (up by five)...

        ...For those in general hospital wards with COVID, 97 were unvaccinated, nine were partially vaccinated and 37 were fully vaccinated. For those in ICUs, 81 were unvaccinated while seven were partially vaccinated and fifteen were fully vaccinated...

          TORONTO -- Ontario is reporting 486 new COVID-19 cases, marking the sixth day in a row in which the daily case count was below 500.

          The majority of the new cases are in those who are not fully vaccinated or who have an unknown vaccination status.

          The province said that only 157 of the cases reported Saturday were in people who have received both shots...

          ... Five additional deaths were reported on Saturday, bringing Ontario’s death tally since the beginning of the pandemic to 9,814.

          There are at least 242 people being treated for COVID-19 in Ontario hospitals, with 164 of those patients in intensive care.

          Of those in the ICU, 146 are either not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

          The new cases come as Ontario moves to further reopen the economy...

              Ontario logs 373 new COVID-19 cases as province launches vaccine QR code

              TORONTO -- Ontario has logged 373 new COVID-19 cases on Monday as the province’s new enhanced vaccine certificate becomes available to all residents.

              Of the new infections, the Ministry of Health says that 265 are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

              The new infections mark a significant decrease from the 443 cases on Sunday and the 486 cases on Saturday...

              ... There are at least 168 people being treated for COVID-19 in Ontario intensive care units. Vaccination data for hospitalized patients is not available on Mondays due to a lack of reporting over the weekend.

              The total number of people to die after contracting COVID-19 in Ontario now stands at 9,815. Two of those deaths were confirmed in the last 24 hours...

                Ontario is reporting 328 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, the ninth day in a row the count is fewer than 500. The provincial case total now stands at 595,563.

                Of the 328 new cases recorded, the data showed 177 were unvaccinated people, 16 were partially vaccinated people, 105 were fully vaccinated people and for 30 people the vaccination status was unknown...

                ...The death toll in the province has risen to 9,819 as four more deaths were recorded...

                  Ontario is reporting 304 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, the tenth day in a row the count is fewer than 500. The provincial case total now stands at 595,867.

                  It is also the smallest increase in cases since Aug. 5 when 213 new cases were recorded.

                  Of the 304 new cases recorded, the data showed 198 were unvaccinated people, 10 were partially vaccinated people, 84 were fully vaccinated people and for 12 people the vaccination status was unknown...

                    TORONTO -- Ontario health officials are reporting 413 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, as well as four more deaths due to the disease.

                    Just the day before, officials logged the lowest daily case count in months with 304 infections. On Tuesday, the province logged 328 new cases and on Monday, the province logged 373 new cases.

                    Ontario’s rolling seven-day average now stands at 406, down from 476 at this point last week...

                      Ontario is reporting 492 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, the 12th day in a row the count is fewer than 500. The provincial case total now stands at 596,772.

                      Of the 492 new cases recorded, the data showed 248 were unvaccinated people, 21 were partially vaccinated people, 167 were fully vaccinated people and for 56 people the vaccination status was unknown...

                      ...The death toll in the province has risen to 9,839 as 12 more deaths were recorded. Of which 11 deaths occurred within the last month with one death that occurred more than a month ago, the ministry of health said...

                      ...Ontario reported 261 people in general hospital wards with COVID-19 (down by 13 from the previous day) with 149 patients in intensive care units (down by 12) and 121 patients in intensive care units on a ventilator (down by 14)...

                        Ontario reported 373 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 597,145.

                        Health Minister Christine Elliott said of the new cases, 264 involve people who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status, while 109 are fully vaccinated individuals...

                        ....Six additional deaths were also announced on Oct. 23, bringing the provincial virus-related death toll to 9,845...

                        ...Provincial figures showed there are 136 people in intensive care due to COVID-19 (down by 13), 96 of whom are on a ventilator (up by two).

                        Elliott said of those in intensive care, 120 patients are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status, while 16 are fully vaccinated...

                            TORONTO -- Ontario health officials are reporting 326 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday.

                            No new deaths were reported.

                            Today’s case count comes after officials logged 370 new cases on Sunday, 373 new cases on Saturday and 492 new cases on Friday...

                            ... Of the new infections reported Monday, 231 cases involved people who are either unvaccinated, partially vaccinated or their vaccination status is unknown. The remaining 95 infections involved people who are fully vaccinated.

                              TORONTO -- Ontario health officials are reporting the lowest number of new COVID-19 cases since early August on Tuesday with 269 new infections logged.

                              Officials also recorded six new deaths, bringing the total number of COVID-19-related deaths in the province to 9,852...

                              ... Ontario’s rolling seven-day average now stands at 364, down from 407 at this point last week.

                              With 21,827 tests processed in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health says the positivity rate in the province stands at about 1.5 per cent.

                              Of the new infections reported Tuesday, 176 cases involved people who are either unvaccinated, partially vaccinated or their vaccination status is unknown. The remaining 93 infections involved people who are fully vaccinated.

                              The province stated at least 151 people are in hospital due to COVID-19, including 30 people who are fully vaccinated and 121 people who are either not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

                              Of those hospitalized, the province says 84 patients are in intensive care units due to COVID-19 — 67 of those are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, while 17 are fully vaccinated...

                                Ontario is reporting 321 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, as active cases across the province have dropped below 3,000. The provincial case total now stands at 598,431.

                                Of the 321 new cases recorded, the data showed 158 were unvaccinated people, 12 were partially vaccinated people, 118 were fully vaccinated people and for 33 people the vaccination status was unknown...
