"There's people who are delaying being tested, are out in community while very ill and not being diagnosed until being admitted when they're severely ill. A lot of concerns about what's happening throughout Manitoba, but certainly we see significant transmission in the Southern Health Region right now," he said...

Among the 43 active cases, 67 per cent were unvaccinated, 16 per cent were only partly vaccinated and 16 per cent are fully vaccinated.

Manitoba reported 114 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, the province's online dashboard says, the third time in less than a week that the province announced a daily case count of 100 or more.

The other two three-digit days came on the weekend, with 100 on Saturday and 113 on Sunday, though those updates weren't provided until Monday because the province no longer updates its COVID-19 data dashboards on weekends.

The latest update also brings the province's seven-day case average up to 84, the highest it's been in about three months. On June 29, that number was at 91.

Roughly three-quarters of the new coronavirus cases were in people who were not fully immunized against the illness, the province's vaccine status dashboard says.
Of those people, eight hadn't yet reached full immunity from both shots and 77 hadn't been vaccinated at all...

...There are now 86 people in Manitoba hospitals after getting COVID-19, up four since Tuesday. Of them, 20 are in intensive care units, up one, the dashboard says.

People who aren't fully vaccinated also make up a large chunk of those in hospital.

Of Manitoba's 48 active COVID-19 cases in hospital, nearly 80 per cent aren't fully immunized. Among the 14 active cases in intensive care, none are fully vaccinated, the province's online vaccine dashboard says...
