    Active COVID-19 cases in Sask. nearly double in last 10 days

    REGINA -- Active COVID-19 cases across Saskatchewan rose to 448 Friday, which is the highest number since the province dropped all public health measures on July 11 and 206 more than the province had 10 days ago.

    The government reported 56 new COVID-19 cases on Friday. The confirmed cases are in the Far Northwest (eight); Far North Central (one); Far Northeast (11); Northwest (two); North Central (two); Central West (four); Saskatoon (13); Regina (two); South Central (two) and Southeast (one) zones. Five cases are pending residence information.

    Forty-six per cent of active cases and 36 per cent of new COVID-19 cases are in the Far North zones.

    According to the province, there were 1,779 COVID-19 tests processed on Thursday. The seven-day average of daily new cases is 45 – up from 27 ten days ago.

    There are 46 COVID-19 patients are in hospital; 12 are in ICU in the North Central (one); Saskatoon (six); and Regina (five) zones...

      Sask. reports highest number of new COVID-19 cases since reopening

      REGINA -- The Saskatchewan government reported 80 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, which is the highest number seen since the province fully reopened on July 11.

      The new cases are in the Far Northwest (28); Far North Central (six); Far Northeast (two); Northwest (five); North Central (six); Northeast (one); Saskatoon (11); Central East (two); Regina (six); Southwest (two); South Central (one) and Southeast (seven) zones. Location information is pending for three cases.

      The province also recorded 53 recoveries and no additional deaths...

        REGINA -- Three weeks after all COVID-19 restrictions were lifted in Saskatchewan, active cases have increased 19 per cent.

        On July 11 the province reported 399 active COVID-19 cases. That number is up to 474 on Monday.

        The highest concentration of active cases are in the Far Northwest (112), Saskatoon (74) and the Far Northeast (64).

        Saskatchewan reported 29 new COVID-19 cases on Monday with 51 additional recoveries.

        Fifty-eight people are being treated in hospital for COVID-19, up 10 from 48 on Sunday. Eleven people are being treated in the ICU...

          Saskatchewan reported 24 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the provincial caseload so far to 50,120.

          The new cases are located in the following zones:

          Far northwest: two.
          Far northeast: four.
          Northwest: one.
          North central: seven.
          Saskatoon: four.
          Southwest: three.
          Southeast: two.

          The location of one case remains pending.

          No new deaths were reported Tuesday.

          The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 48, or four cases per 100,000 people.

          The province also reported an additional 51 recoveries, bringing the total number of known active cases down to 449.

          There are 58 people hospitalized with the virus, 10 of whom are in the ICU...

            COVID-19: 1 new death as Saskatchewan adds 60 infections

            For the first time in more than a week, Saskatchewan saw a new COVID-19-related death.

            According to the provincial government’s dashboard on Wednesday, there were 60 new cases, bringing the overall infection total in Saskatchewan to 50,181. The seven-day average of new daily infections grew to 50 from 48 on Tuesday

            In the updated data, Delta variant cases increased to 688 from the previously reported 631. Of the 12,366 variants of concern (VOCs), 8,198 have lineages identified by whole-genome sequencing.

            Active COVID-19 cases have increased and now sit at 483 in Saskatchewan.

            The province’s hospitals are currently providing care for 56 patients with COVID-19: 44 are receiving inpatient care and 12 are in intensive care units...

              REGINA -- The Saskatchewan government reported 56 new cases Thursday, along with 48 recoveries and two additional deaths.

              The new cases have pushed the active case count back above 500 for the first time since the end of June.

              One person who died was in the 60-79 age group; the second person was in the 80 and older age group. As of Aug. 5, 581 people in the province have died from COVID-19.

              The new cases are in the Far Northwest (five), Far North Central (two), Far Northeast (two), Northwest (one), North Central (two), Saskatoon (17), Central West (one), Regina (four), Southwest (two), South Central (two) and Southeast (15) zones. Three new cases are pending residence information

              There are 53 COVID-19 patients in hospital across the province; 11 of those patients are in the ICU in the North Central (three), Saskatoon (four) and Regina (four) zones.

              According to the province, the seven-day average of daily new cases is 51. There were 1,764 tests processed on Wednesday...

                Saskatchewan has recorded the highest daily number of new COVID-19 cases in almost a month, with most of them in people under 30.

                There were 85 new cases and one new death reported Friday on the province's online COVID-19 dashboard.

                That's the most new cases in a day since July 8, a few days before the province removed restrictions on gathering sizes and ended mandatory masking.

                Another two Saskatchewan people who tested positive out-of-province have now also been added to Saskatchewan's total.

                There have now been 582 deaths from the illness in the province since the pandemic started.

                Younger people getting sick

                About 72 per cent of the new cases are among younger people — those under 30.

                The seven-day average of new cases is now 54 (an increase of three).

                As of Friday, there were 549 known active cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan. To date, there have been 50,338 confirmed cases in the province.

                There are now 57 people in hospital with the illness, including 12 in intensive care...

                  The Saskatchewan government reported 54 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, along with 62 recoveries and no additional deaths.

                  The new cases are in the Far Northwest (five), Far North Central (one), Far Northeast (one), Northwest (two), North Central (12), Northeast (three), Saskatoon (12), Central West (four), Central East (one), Regina (four), Southwest (three), South Central (one) and Southeast (three) zones. The location of two cases are pending residence information.

                  The seven-day average of daily new cases is 71, which is up from 52 one week ago.

                  There are 650 active cases across the province, a slight decrease from the 656 active cases counted on Sunday.

                  Active cases are in the Far Northwest (94), Far North Central (27), Far Northeast (44), Northwest (34), North Central (68), Northeast (13), Saskatoon (152), Central West (14), Central East (20), Regina (34), Southwest (31), South Central (22) and South East (77) zones.

                  There are 55 COVID-19 patients in hospital across the province. ICU admissions jumped from 11 to 14 overnight; people are receiving intensive care in the North Central (three), Regina (five) and Saskatoon (six) zones...

                    REGINA -- Saskatchewan added 65 new COVID-19 cases and two more deaths on Tuesday.

                    Since the start of the pandemic, 584 residents with COVID-19 have died, according to the province’s virus dashboard.

                    The new cases are located in the Far North West (12), Far North Central (four), Far North East (11), North West (two), North Central (six), Saskatoon (18), Central West (one), Central East (one), Regina (five), South West (one), South Central (one) and South East (three) zones.

                    A total of 634 cases are considered active. Seventy-nine recoveries were reported Tuesday.

                    There are 62 people in hospital related to COVID-19, including 13 patients in intensive care.

                    The seven-day average of daily new cases is 77, or 6.4 per 100,000 population...

                      REGINA -- Saskatchewan’s active COVID-19 cases have increased 71 per cent in the month since all pandemic-related restrictions were lifted.

                      On July 11, Saskatchewan reported 399 active COVID-19 cases in the province. On Wednesday that number sits at 682, as the province reports 90 new cases.

                      The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 81, or 6.7 new cases per 100,000 residents.

                      The province reported 44 more recoveries and no additional deaths.

                        COVID-19 is once again ramping up in Saskatchewan. On Thursday, the province reported a spike in new cases with 141. That number is 51 cases higher than Wednesday's increase.

                        Saskatchewan has not recorded this many new cases in a single day since May 30, which had 172, according to the province's online dashboard.

                        Two more deaths have been reported, bringing Saskatchewan's COVID-19 death toll to 586.

                        The far northeast zone leads the pack with 29 new cases. About two-fifths (40 per cent) of all new cases are in the 20 to 39 years age category.

                          New cases are located in the Far North West (four), Far North Central (three), Far North East (20), North West (four), North Central (22), North East (four), Saskatoon (37), Central West (two), Central East (two), Regina (two), South West (one), South Central (eight) and South East (10) zones.

                          Three new cases are pending residence information.

                          The province said just over one-third of new cases are in the 20 to 39 age group.

                          A total of 958 cases are considered active. Sixty-three more cases were designated recovered.

                            Saskatchewan health officials reported 143 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, the highest daily case count since May 30 when 172 COVID-19 cases were reported.

                              REGINA -- The Government of Saskatchewan announced it will report the vaccination status of new COVID-19 cases going forward.

                              The province reported 85 new COVID-19 cases on Monday with 74 cases, or 87 per cent being unvaccinated. Five cases, six per cent, were partially vaccinated and six cases, or seven per cent, were fully vaccinated.

                              There are 1,038 active cases in Saskatchewan. The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases was 110, or 9.1 new cases per 100,000 people...

                                REGINA -- The province reported 107 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, along with 130 more recoveries.

                                Of the 107 new cases, the province said 82, or 77 per cent, are not vaccinate. Another 10 cases are partially vaccinated while 15 are fully vaccinated...
