    Sask. records 89 new COVID-19 cases Friday

    REGINA -- Saskatchewan reported 89 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, along with 111 recoveries and zero additional deaths.

    The new cases are in the Far Northwest (four); Far Northeast (13); Northwest (nine); North Central (six); Northeast (two); Saskatoon (20); Central West (one); Central East (five); Regina (12); Central (14); and Southeast (five). One new case is pending residence information.

    There are 101 people in hospital. Twenty-one of those patients in hospital are in the ICU – including two patients from Manitoba.

    The 21 people receiving intensive are in the North Central (one); Saskatoon (10); Central East (two); Regina (six); and Southwest (two) zones.

    As of Friday, there are 1,292 active cases of COVID-19 in the province...

      The province announced Saturday that three more Saskatchewan residents have died as a result of COVID-19, pushing the province's total death count as a result of the pandemic to 546.

      The deaths reported Saturday were a person in their 60s in the Saskatoon zone and two people in the 80-plus age group in the northwest zone, according to the province's daily COVID-19 update.

      There were also 99 new cases of the illness reported in Saskatchewan on Saturday. The total number of COVID-19 cases recorded in the province is now at 47,285, of which 1,241 are considered active. There have been 45,498 recoveries...

        Sask. reports lowest new daily COVID-19 case count since February

        REGINA -- Saskatchewan reported its lowest number of new COVID-19 cases since February for the second day in a row on Monday, along with three deaths – including the death of a young person.

        The province recorded 68 new cases and 119 recoveries.

        One person who died was younger than 20 and from the Northwest zone. A second person who died was in their 70s and also from the Northwest zone. The third person was in their 60s and from the North Central zone...

          EGINA -- Saskatchewan reported 90 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths and 177 recoveries on Tuesday.

          The two deaths were people in the 80-plus age group from the North Central and North West zones.

          Saskatchewan Health Minister Paul Merriman and Dr. Saqib Shahab, the province’s Chief Medical Health Officer will provide a COVID-19 update on Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m.

          The province said 1,053 cases are currently considered active.

          As of Tuesday, 104 people are in hospital related to COVID-19, including 18 people in intensive care.

          The seven day average of daily new caes is 97, or 7.9 cases per 100,000 population...

            COVID-19: Active cases in Saskatchewan drop below 1,000

            Active COVID-19 cases dropped below 1,000 for the first time this year in Saskatchewan.

            The province said Wednesday that 938 cases are considered active, the lowest number of active cases in Saskatchewan since Nov. 7, 2020.

            The drop comes after Saskatchewan reported its lowest daily number of new COVID-19 cases in nearly four months.

            Health officials reported 57 new cases on Wednesday, the second-lowest total in 2021 since 56 were reported on Feb. 24. Most of the new cases were reported in Saskatoon (21) and Regina (12).

            It brings total cases in Saskatchewan to 47,574 since the start of the pandemic.

            The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number fell to 87 — 7.1 per 100,000 — continuing its downward trend. The average is at its lowest point since Nov. 7, 2020, when the seven-day average was 85...

              REGINA -- The Saskatchewan government reported 77 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, along with one additional death and 129 recoveries.

              The person who died was in their 70s and from the Central East zone.

              The new cases are in the Far Northwest (nine); Far Northeast (one); Northwest (eight); North Central (ten); Saskatoon (18); Central East (one); Regina (eight); Southwest (two); South Central (12); and Southeast (seven) zones. One case is pending residence information.

                  REGINA -- The Government of Saskatchewan reported 106 new COVID-19 cases, one death and 135 recoveries on Saturday.

                  The province’s 555th death was a person in the 80-plus age group from the North West zone.

                  There are 874 cases considered active in Saskatchewan.

                  A total of 96 people are in hospital related to COVID-19, including 17 people in intensive care.

                    REGINA -- Saskatchewan reported 65 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, with 131 recoveries.

                    The province is one per cent away from clearing the third and final milestone in the province’s Reopening Roadmap.

                    There were no new deaths to report.

                    Active cases in the province sit at 809. The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 78, or 6.4 per 100,000 people.

                      COVID-19: Lowest daily infections of 2021 as Saskatchewan adds 1 new death

                      Saskatchewan reported its lowest daily number of new COVID-19 infections so far this year as it added one to its death toll on Monday.

                      Health officials said on Monday there were 55 new cases, bringing the overall infection total in Saskatchewan to 47,996. The seven-day average of new daily infections is down to 76 from 78 on June 13.

                      There have now been 556 COVID-19-related deaths in Saskatchewan since the pandemic began. The recently deceased was in the 80-plus age group and from the Saskatoon zone, according to the Saskatchewan government.

                      According to the provincial government, 22 new variants of concern (VOC) cases have been identified in Saskatchewan, while the total is reported at 11,726.

                      The province’s hospitals are currently providing care for 95 patients with COVID-19: 76 are receiving inpatient care and 19 are in intensive care...

                        REGINA -- Saskatchewan reported 47 new COVID-19 cases and four additional deaths on Tuesday.

                        Premier Scott Moe and Dr. Saqib Shahab, the province’s Chief Medical Health Officer, will provide a COVID-19 update at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. CTVNewsRegina.ca and CTVNewsSaskatoon.ca will stream the press conference live.

                        The latest deaths were a person over 80 in the North Central Zone, a person in their 70s in the Northeast, a person in their 60s in Saskatoon and a person in their 50s in the Southeast.

                          Saskatchewan reported two COVID-19-related deaths on Wednesday, bringing the province’s total up to 562 since the pandemic began.

                          One of the recently deceased was reported in the 80-plus age group from the north west zone and the other was in their 70s from central east, according to the daily update.

                          Health officials said on Wednesday there were 74 new cases, bringing the overall infection total in Saskatchewan to 48,125. The seven-day average of new daily infections is up to 72 from 70 on Tuesday.

                          According to the provincial government, 37 new variants of concern (VOC) cases have been identified in Saskatchewan while the total is reported at 11,787.

                            REGINA -- Saskatchewan reported 94 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, along with 70 recoveries and zero new deaths.

                            Sixty-nine per cent of people 18 and older have their first dose of the vaccine. The province has been stuck at 69 per cent since Sunday. It has to hit 70 per cent by June 20 in order to begin Step Three by July 11.

                            Though the government did not report any deaths, one person in the 80-plus age group from Regina was removed from the COVID-19 related deaths count, bringing the total number down to 561.

                            The new cases are in the Far Northwest (four); Far Northeast (one); Northwest (nine); North Central (seven); Northeast (five); Saskatoon (25); Central West (11); Central East (two); Regina (nine); Southwest (three); South Central (seven); and Southeast (four) zones.

                            There are 87 people in hospital across the province – the lowest number since mid-November. Nine of those patients are in intensive care in the Saskatoon (six) and Regina (three) zones.

                                Saskatchewan health officials reported 60 new COVID-19 cases and one new death on Sunday, the same day Step 2 of the reopening plan was launched.

                                The death was reported in the north west zone. The resident was in their 70s.

                                Saskatoon reported the most new cases with 27, followed by Regina and the north west zone, both adding nine cases each.

                                Across the province, 743 cases are considered active...
