    B.C. records 946 new cases of COVID-19 and 11 more deaths over 3 days
    There are 241 people in hospital with the disease, 89 of whom are in intensive care

    B.C. health officials announced 946 new cases of COVID-19 and 11 more deaths on Monday.

    In a written statement, the provincial government said there are currently 2,876 active cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in B.C.

    A total of 241 people are in hospital, with 89 in intensive care.

    The breakdown of new cases is as follows:

    351 new cases from Friday to Saturday.
    311 new cases from Saturday to Sunday.
    284 new cases from Sunday to Monday.

    Overall hospitalizations, which typically lag behind spikes and dips in new cases, are down by 20.5 per cent from last Monday, when 303 people were in hospital with the disease and about 45.3 per cent from a month ago when 441 people were in hospital.

    The number of patients in intensive care is down by about 22.6 per cent from 115 a week ago and by 31 per cent from last month when 129 people were in the ICU.

    The provincial death toll from COVID-19 is now 2,362 lives lost out of 220,530 confirmed cases to date...

        B.C. records another 326 COVID cases and one more death in 24 hours

        In the past 24 hours, British Columbia has recorded another 326 new cases of COVID-19.

        In addition, a new death in the Northern Health region has been reported for an overall total of 2,363 fatalities since the start of the pandemic.

        The number of active cases of the virus in the province is now 2,814.

        Of the active cases, 242 individuals are currently in hospital and 82 are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation, the province said.

        Five cases of the Omicron variant of concern have been confirmed in B.C., three of which are in Vancouver Coastal Health and two in Fraser Health. All five cases are related to international travel.

        From Nov. 29 to Dec. 5, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 58.7 per cent of cases. From Nov. 22 to Dec. 5, they accounted for 63.1 per cent of hospitalizations, the province said...

          Another 379 cases of COVID-19 and six related deaths have been recorded in British Columbia, the government announced Wednesday along with another drop in coronavirus hospitalizations.

          There have now been 221,235 COVID-19 infections and 2,369 related deaths confirmed across the province since the start of the pandemic, according to the Ministry of Health.

          B.C.'s seven-day average for new cases, which recently levelled off after declining for weeks, remained at 347 per day after Wednesday's update. The seven-day average for COVID-19 deaths also remained at about four per day.

          But the number of infectious coronavirus patients in hospital decreased to 224, which is a new three-month low and represents a 20 per cent drop from one week ago. The number of those patients in intensive care also fell to 77, down from 82 on Tuesday...

              B.C. reports five deaths and 1,129 new COVID-19 cases over three days

              Health officials in British Columbia are reporting five deaths and 1,129 new cases of COVID-19 in the past three days.

              The bulk of the infections — 415 — were detected Saturday, while 365 were detected Sunday and 349 on Monday.

              The province will provide an update on the number of Omicron infections Tuesday.

              There are 2,949 active cases of COVID-19 throughout the province...

              ...A total of 185 people are in hospital, down from 211 last Friday. Of those, 72 remain in intensive care...

                  As of Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, 86.6% (4,316,478) of eligible people five and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 82.4% (4,105,425) have received their second dose.

                  In addition, 91.5% (4,243,021) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 88.6% (4,105,385) received their second dose and 13% (610,196) have received a third dose.

                  Also, 91.9% (3,975,788) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose, 89.1% (3,852,330) received their second dose and 14% (609,466) have received a third dose.

                  B.C. is reporting 519 new cases of COVID-19, including eight epi-linked cases, for a total of 223,661 cases in the province.

                  There are 3,171 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, and 218,001 people who tested positive have recovered. Of the active cases, 191 individuals are in hospital and 81 are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation...

                        British Columbia reported three deaths and 753 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, more than doubling the number of new cases reported one week ago.

                        The update pushed the province’s seven-day average for new cases to 489, and left B.C. with 3,878 active cases...

                        ...There were 184 active cases in hospital, including 70 people in critical or intensive care. Hospitalizations are considered a “lagging indicator,” meaning they tend to reflect transmissions that occurred weeks ago...

                            British Columbia’s December COVID-19 surge continued Friday, with the province reporting another 789 cases, along with three more deaths.

                            The update lifted B.C.’s seven-day moving average for new cases to 539, the highest it’s been since Nov. 1, and left the province with 4,313 active cases.

                            The number of confirmed cases of the Omicron variant more than doubled overnight to 302, up from 135 on Thursday...

                                As of Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, 87.3% (4,352,063) of eligible people five and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 82.6% (4,118,432) have received their second dose.
                                In addition, 91.7% (4,250,903) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 88.8% (4,118,375) have received their second dose and 16% (727,761) have received a third dose.
                                Also, 92.1% (3,982,962) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose, 89.3% (3,863,965) received their second dose and 17% (726,994) have received a third dose.
                                Over a three-day period, B.C. is reporting 2,550 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 228,335 cases in the province:
