    British Columbia has announced 2,090 new cases of COVID-19 and 28 more deaths over the Thanksgiving weekend.

    The breakdown of new cases of the past four days are as follows:

    Friday to Saturday: 603 new cases.
    Saturday to Sunday: 634 new cases.
    Sunday to Monday: 468 new cases.
    Monday to Tuesday: 385 new cases.

    In a written statement, the provincial government said there are currently 5,183 active cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in B.C.

    A total of 357 people are in hospital, with 153 in intensive care.

    Overall hospitalizations, which typically lag behind spikes and dips in new cases, are up by 3.5 per cent from last Tuesday, when 345 people were in hospital with the disease and about 27 per cent from a month ago when 281 people were in hospital.

    The number of patients in intensive care is up by about 6.3 per cent from 144 a week ago and by 13.3 per cent from a month ago when 135 people were in the ICU...

      B.C. health officials announced 605 new cases of COVID-19 and four more deaths on Wednesday.

      In a written statement, the provincial government said there are currently 5,172 active cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in B.C.

      A total of 374 people are in hospital, with 153 in intensive care.

      Overall hospitalizations, which typically lag behind spikes and dips in new cases, are up by 6.9 per cent from last Wednesday, when 350 people were in hospital with the disease and about 34.5 per cent from a month ago when 278 people were in hospital.

      The number of patients in intensive care is up by about 12.5 per cent from 136 a week ago and by 10 per cent from a month ago when 139 people were in the ICU...

        There were 580 new cases of COVID-19 identified in British Columbia in the past 24 hours, including 104 in the Interior.

        The new cases bring B.C.’s total since the pandemic began to 195,766 cases, and 5,348 remain active. Active cases rose by 176 since Wednesday.

        Hospitalizations jumped by four in the past 24 hours, to 378, and 153 people are being treated in intensive care.

        There are currently 831 active cases within Interior Health, and 41 people are hospitalized.

        There were nine new deaths reported throughout B.C. in the past 24 hours. To date, 2,042 British Columbians have died after contracting COVID-19.

        No new healthcare facility outbreaks were declared Thursday, and there remains 19 active outbreaks among care homes, assisted living facilities and hospitals. Five of the outbreaks are in the Interior. ..

          British Columbia announced 667 new cases of COVID-19 and 13 more deaths on Friday, the most deaths in one day since Feb. 3.

          In a written statement, the provincial government said there are currently 5,128 active cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in B.C.

          A total of 367 people are in hospital, with 152 in intensive care.

          Overall hospitalizations, which typically lag behind spikes and dips in new cases, are up by 1.9 per cent from last Friday, when 360 people were in hospital with the disease and about 27 per cent from a month ago when 288 people were in hospital.

          The number of patients in intensive care is up by about 11 per cent from 137 a week ago and by the same percentage from a month ago when 137 people were also in the ICU.

            B.C. reports 1,846 cases of COVID-19, 26 related deaths over 72 hours

            Another 1,846 cases of COVID-19 and 26 related deaths have been recorded across British Columbia over the last 72 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.

            The latest update, provided in a written statement Monday afternoon, pushed the province's seven-day average for coronavirus infections to 583 per day, up from 563 on Friday.

            The seven-day average for COVID-19 deaths increased to 8.43 per day, the highest it's been since Feb. 3.

            The number of infectious patients in hospital decreased to 360, including 151 in intensive care.

            Once again, the government's statistics indicate the majority of B.C.'s cases and hospitalizations involve people who are either unvaccinated against COVID-19 or only partially vaccinated.

            "88 per cent of those in critical care today due to COVID-19 were not fully vaccinated," Health Minister Adrian Dix said on Twitter.

            The unvaccinated account for 86 per cent of ICU patients, including all but one of the 26 who are under the age of 40. They also account for 62 per cent of all cases recorded over the last week...

                British Columbia reported 696 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, along with six additional deaths.

                The update lifted B.C.’s seven-day rolling average for new cases to 621, while the number of active cases dipped to 4,888...

                ...There were 370 active cases in hospital, an overnight decrease of 12, and 139 people in critical or intensive care, an overnight dip of seven.

                The hospitalization numbers do not include patients who were no longer infectious but remained in hospital for other treatment — a figure officials have not provided since Sept. 21...

                    As of Friday, Oct. 22, 2021, 89.4% (4,145,426) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 83.9% (3,891,058) have received their second dose.
                    In addition, 89.9% (3,887,545) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose and 84.6% (3,659,100) have received their second dose.
                    B.C. is reporting 649 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 200,898 cases in the province.
                    Note: The numbers of total and new cases are provisional due to a delayed data refresh and will be verified once confirmed.
                    There are 5,106 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, and 193,325 people who tested positive have recovered. Of the active cases, 365 individuals are currently in hospital and 143 are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.
                    Note: Intensive care numbers are a subset of the total in hospital. They are not in addition to the number of people in hospital...

                      British Columbia announced 1,618 new cases of COVID-19 and 20 more deaths from over the weekend on Monday. The daily breakdown of new cases over the last three days is as follows:

                      Oct. 22-23: 613 new cases
                      Oct. 23-24: 529 new cases
                      Oct. 24-25: 476 new cases

                      In a written statement, the provincial Health Ministry said there are currently 4,966 active cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in B.C.

                      A total of 366 people are in hospital, with 149 in intensive care.

                      Overall hospitalizations, which typically lag behind spikes and dips in new cases, are up from last Monday by six patients and up about 14.3 per cent from a month ago when 319 people were in hospital.

                      The number of patients in intensive care is down by two from 151 a week ago and the same number as a month ago when 149 people were also in the ICU.

                      The provincial death toll from COVID-19 is now 2,129 lives lost out of 202,516 confirmed cases to date...

                          In a written statement, the province said there are currently 4,829 active cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in B.C.

                          A total of 390 people are in hospital, with 155 in intensive care.

                          Overall hospitalizations, which typically lag behind spikes and dips in new cases, are up by 2.1 per cent from last Tuesday, when 382 people were in hospital with the disease, and about 28.7 per cent from a month ago when 303 people were in hospital.

                          The number of patients in intensive care is up by about 6.2 per cent from 146 a week ago, and up by 9.9 per cent from a month ago when 141 people were in the ICU.

                          The provincial death toll from the disease is now 2,131 lives lost out of 202,973 confirmed cases to date...
