Quebec adds 900 new COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths as hospitalizations continue to drop

MONTREAL -- Quebec is reporting 900 new COVID-19 infections Thursday and 10 deaths due to the disease, as hospitalizations continue to drop across the province.

Of those 10 deaths, four occurred in the last 24 hours, another four between Feb. 11 and 16, and two happened before that period.

In total, COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 10,264 people in Quebec. Four deaths were removed from that total after an investigation found they were not attributable to the coronavirus.

There are now 9,378 known active cases in Quebec after 829 more people are reported to have recovered on Thursday.

The total number of infections in the province since March 2020 stands at 279,887. Of those, 260,245 have recovered.

There were 19 fewer people in care for COVID-19 as of Thursday morning, for a total of 747. Of those, intensive care unit cases dropped by one, for a total of 129...

Quebec reports 6th consecutive day of under 1,000 new COVID-19 cases

For the sixth consecutive day, Quebec public health has reported under 1,000 new COVID-19 cases.

The Minist?re de la Sant? et des Services sociaux has added exactly 800 COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours.

Over the past week, Quebec’s average daily COVID-19 increase has been 836, compared to 1,025 during the week of February 4 to 10.

Public health has also added 14 new deaths to the provincial total, one of which occurred over the past day. Twelve other deaths were attributed to dates between February 12 and 17, and one came from “earlier in February.”

The number of hospitalizations decreased by 19 compared to Thursday, for a cumulative total of 723 across Quebec. Among these, the number of people in intensive care decreased by two for a total of 127....

MONTREAL -- Quebec COVID-19 numbers continue to drop to levels not seen since early in the second wave last fall.

The province reported Saturday that 769 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours bringing the total number of positive cases to 281,456 since the start of the pandemic.

Of those, 262,506 are reported to have recovered, 1,077 more than on Friday.

The Quebec Institute of Public Health is reporting that there are 8,658 active novel coronavirus cases in Quebec, and the seven-day average for daily cases is now 797.

The province reported 14 more deaths due to the disease including four in the past 24 hours, and 10 between Feb. 13 and Feb. 18.

MONTREAL -- Quebec announced Sunday that 666 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the lowest daily reported increase in months.

According to provincial data, the last time Quebec reported numbers lower than Sunday's increase was on Sept. 22, when it added 524 new cases.

The province also added 15 deaths due to the disease including seven in the past 24 hours, five between Feb. 14 and 19, and three occurring before that period.

Since March 2020, 10,307 people are reported to have died due to the novel coronavirus.

Quebec hospitalizations continued to drop with 14 fewer people receiving care in the province's hospitals than there were on Saturday, for a total of 686 people. Of those, 119 people are in the intensive care ward, a decrease of one.

There are now 8,278 known active cases of coronavirus in the province...

MONTREAL -- Quebec announced Monday that 805 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of people infected to 282,927.

Hospitalizations increased for the first time in weeks with three more people in care for a total of 689. Of those, 117 people are in intensive care, a decrease of two.

As of Monday morning, there were 8,112 known active coronavirus cases in Quebec.

The province also added 11 deaths due to the disease including two in the past 24 hours, and nine between Feb. 15 and 20.

Since March 2020, Quebec has reported 10,318 deaths associated with the novel coronavirus.

Recoveries outnumbered new cases, with 960 people reportedly virus-free on Monday. Of the 282,927 people who have caught the virus, 264,497 have recovered.

On Monday, 7,396 doses of vaccine were administered bringing that total to 353,894.

The province conducted 17,684 coronavirus tests on Feb. 20, down from 24,878 the day before. Quebec releases its testing figures 48 hours after the reported day...

MONTREAL -- Quebec reported Tuesday that 739 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

The seven-day daily case increase is now 783 in Quebec, and the Institute of Public Health is reporting that there are 7,880 active cases, a drop of 232.

The last time active cases were below 8,000 was Oct. 2, when 7,983 active cases were reported.

The province also reported 13 new deaths due to the disease, including one death in the past 24 hours, nine between Feb. 16 and Feb. 21, and three before Feb. 16.

Since the start of the pandemic, 10,330 people have died due to the novel coronavirus in Quebec. The province has removed one death from that total after an investigation found that it was not attributable to COVID-19.

After increasing for the first time since Feb. 7 on Monday, the province reported that nine fewer people are receiving treatment in Quebec hospitals for a total of 680 hospitalizations.

MONTREAL -- Quebec reported Wednesday that 806 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours bringing the total number of cases in the province to 284,472 since the pandemic began.

The number is above the seven-day average, which is now 784 cases per day.

Of the total number of cases, 266,138 are reported to have recovered from the novel coronavirus, an increase of 682.

Quebec added that 17 more people have died due to the disease, including five in the past 24 hours, seven between Feb. 17 and Feb. 22, and five before Feb. 17.

Since March 2020, 10,346 people in Quebec have died due to COVID-19.

The province removed one death from the overall total after an investigation found the death was not attributable to COVID-19.

The number of active cases in the province is now 7,988, according to the Quebec Institute of Public Health.

The number of hospitalizations dropped again Wednesday, but ICU numbers rose for a second straight day.

There are now 655 people receiving care in Quebec hospitals, which is a decrease of 25, but 130 people are in intensive care wards, an increase of 10. ..

MONTREAL -- As Quebecers over 85 are now able to sign up for a vaccine, the province reported that 858 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours bringing the overall total to 285,330 since the start of the pandemic.

Quebec has added an average of 778 cases per day for the past week.

Of those, 266,879 are reported to have recovered from the disease, an increase of 741 from Wednesday.

Quebec added 16 deaths due to the novel coronavirus including five in the past 24 hours, nine between Feb. 18 and Feb. 23, and two before Feb.18.

Quebec marks one-year anniversary of first case by reporting 858 new COVID-19 infections

MONTREAL -- One year after the first COVID-19 case was reported in Quebec on Feb. 27, 2020, the province has now reported 287,003 total cases after it added 858 in the past 24 hours on Saturday.

Of the total cases, 268,645 are reported to have recovered from the disease, 760 more than on Friday.

The Quebec Insitute of Public Health is reporting that there are 7,973 active COVID-19 cases in the province, a decrease of 15.

The seven-day average for new daily cases is now 792.

On Saturday, the province also added 13 deaths due to the novel coronavirus, including five in the past 24 hours, six between Feb. 20 and Feb. 25, and two before Feb. 20.

The positive news for Quebec's health-care workers is that 21 fewer patients are receiving care in the province's hospitals than were on Friday for a total of 599 hospitalizations.

MONTREAL -- As many students in the province get set for Spring Break, Quebec reported Sunday that 737 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 bringing the overall total to 287,740 since the pandemic began.

Of the overall total, 269,530 are reported to have recovered from the disease, an increase of 885.

The Quebec Institute of Public Health is reporting that there are 7,817 active cases, a decrease of 156 from Saturday. That number is the lowest number of active cases since Oct. 1 when there were 7,527.

The seven-day average for new daily cases is now 803.

Quebec reported nine new deaths due to the novel coronavirus including four in the past 24 hours, two between Feb. 21 and Feb. 25, and three before Feb. 21.

MONTREAL -- For the second day in a row, Quebec recorded the lowest daily increase of COVID-19 cases in months, adding 588 new infections on Tuesday.

Recoveries also outnumbered new cases, with 792 people reportedly virus-free on Tuesday, leaving 7,378 active cases of COVID-19 in Quebec.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 288,941 people have caught the virus, and 271,156 have recovered.

Tuesday's increase is Quebec's lowest daily case count since Sept. 24, which saw 582 new infections.

The province also reported eight new deaths, for a total of 10,407 since March 2020.

Of those deaths, one happened in the last 24 hours, six between Feb. 23 and Feb. 28, and another one happened before that period.
