Quebec is reporting 12 additional COVID-related deaths on Friday as officials warn of a possible sixth wave as cases continue to climb across the province.
Health officials say 1,048 people were hospitalized for the virus on Friday after 107 patients checked out of the hospital and 93 patients were admitted in the last 24 hours.
ICU cases went up by two after 10 people entered and eight patients left the unit.
Provincial data shows 2,203 PCR tests came back positive during the last day, which is only a small portrait of the situation as access to PCR testing remains limited to high priority groups...

Quebec registered 14 new deaths linked to COVID-19 as the province saw a 28-patient increase Thursday.
Pandemic-related hospitalizations came to a total of 1,062, after 127 patients were admitted and 99 were discharged in the last day.
Intensive care unit cases were also on the upswing with 57 Quebecers being treated for the disease, a rise of seven.
The province recorded 2,295 new cases of the novel coronavirus, but this is only a partial portrait of the situation since access remains limited to PCR testing...

Quebec reported two new deaths attributed to COVID-19 as the province saw a slight dip in hospital numbers Wednesday.
Pandemic-related hospitalizations stood at 1,034, a nine-patient drop compared with the previous day. This comes after 99 people were admitted while 108 were discharged.
Officials say 50 patients were in intensive care, an increase of four.
The province recorded 2,111 new novel coronavirus cases, but the daily tally isn’t reflective of the situation since only certain high-risk groups have access to PCR screening.
Health authorities say 16,251 tests were administered at government-run sites on Monday, the most recent day for which that information is available...

Quebec reported seven new deaths attributed to COVID-19 amid a jump in hospitalizations Tuesday.
There were 1,043 patients being treated for the disease in hospitals across the province, an increase of 41 compared with the previous day. This comes after 100 people were admitted and 59 left.
Of those hospitalized, 46 Quebecers were in intensive care units — a decrease of two in the past 24-hour period.
