Quebec recorded 52 new deaths attributable to COVID-19 on Wednesday as the health crisis continues across the country.

The death toll has reached 12,080 in the province, which has been hard hit by the pandemic and, more recently, the highly transmissible Omicron variant.

In the past 24-hour period, 457 people were admitted and 322 were discharged from hospitals in the province.

Meanwhile, 8,351 new coronavirus infections were reported in the last day — though health officials say that number is not representative of the situation in the province since official testing is limited. The most recent daily tally brings the total caseload to 766,927...

MONTREAL -- After reporting nearly 100 new COVID-19 deaths 24 hours ago, the province reported a much lower number on Sunday with 21 deaths due to the disease added.

Since the pandemic began, Quebec says 12,310 people have died as a result of COVID-19.

Hospitalizations for novel coronavirus treatment increased by 105 with 419 patients checking in for treatment and 314 being discharged. ...On Monday, Quebec reported 3,381 people in hospital (an increase of 81 from the previous day), including 286 in intensive care (an increase of four from the previous day).
The province reported 5,400 new cases of COVID-19 and 54 deaths.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 801,153 confirmed cases and 12,364 people have died.
On Monday, the province also reported a total of 16,482,677 doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered, including 75,667 in the last 24 hours.
90 per cent of the eligible population in the province (ages five and up) has received one dose of the vaccine, 82 per cent have received two doses, and 32 per cent have received three doses.
