    Quebec reports under 1,000 new COVID-19 cases for three straight weeks

    It’s been three consecutive weeks since Quebec reported more than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases.

    Over the past 24 hours, the Minist?re de la Sant? et des Services sociaux has added 798 new coronavirus cases, increasing the total provincial tally to 291,175.

    The last time Quebec reported over 1,000 new cases was on February 12, when 1,049 cases were added.

    Public health has also added 10 new deaths to the provincial total, three from Thursday, five between February 26 and March 3, and two from earlier in February.

    The number of hospitalizations has increased by nine since Thursday, for a cumulative total of 619 across Quebec. Among these, the number of people in intensive care also decreased by four for a total of 111...

      Quebec records fewest COVID-19 infections in months with 579 new cases

      MONTREAL -- Quebec announced Monday that 579 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the lowest number in months for the province. This brings the overall total number of infections since the start of the pandemic to 293,210.

      Of those who tested positive, 275,796 are reported to have recovered, an increase of 737.

      The province also added nine deaths due to the disease. Of those, six occured between March 1 and 6, and three before March 1.

      Since March 2020, 10,481 people are reported to have died due to the novel coronavirus.

      Quebec hospitalizations continued to drop with two fewer people receiving care in the province's hospitals than there were Sunday for a total of 590 hospitalizations. Of those, 108 people are in the intensive care ward, an increase of one....

        MONTREAL -- Quebec reported an increase of 650 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total number of people infected since the beginning of the pandemic to 293,860.

        The average daily increase in cases over the last seven days is now 703.

        With 806 people newly virus-free on Tuesday, there remains 6,765 active coronavirus cases in Quebec.

        The province also reported 12 new deaths, four of which occurred in the last 24 hours, another four between March 2 and March 7, and another that happened at an unknown date.

        Hospitalizations decreased by 14, for a total of 576 people in care. Of those, 110 people are in the intensive care ward, two more than on Monday. In the last seven days, hospitalizations have decreased by an average of seven each day...

          MONTREAL -- Quebec reported an increase in patients receiving care for COVID-19, ICU patients and active cases in past 24 hours.

          Quebec also reported Wednesday that 792 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 since the day before, bringing the total number of positive novel coronavirus cases to 294,652 since the start of the pandemic.

          That number is higher than the seven-day average, which is now 712.

          Of those, 277,185 are reported to have recovered from the disease, 583 more than on Tuesday.

          The number of active cases in Quebec jumped by 199 Wednesday, and the Quebec Institute of Public Health is now reporting 6,964 active COVID-19 cases in the province.

          Quebec also added 10 deaths due to COVID-19 to its overall total including one in the past 24 hours, five between March 3 and March 8, and four before March 3.

          The province has reported 10,503 deaths due to the disease since the start of the pandemic...

            MONTREAL -- As Quebec holds a ceremony commemorating victims of COVID-19 a year after the health crisis was declared a pandemic, Quebec announced Thursday that health-care professionals have administered over 600,000 doses of vaccine.

            The province said 18,659 more vaccinations have been administered bringing the total number of doses administered in the province to 619,060, which is 7.3 per cent of the population.

            Quebec has received 852,065 doses of vaccine.

            Quebec also reported that 738 more people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections in the province to 295,390 since the start of the pandemic.

            Of those, 277,738 are reported to have recovered from the disease, 553 more than on Wednesday.

            The Quebec Institute of Public Health is reporting 170 more active cases Thursday for a total of 7,134.

            The seven-day average for daily case increases is now 716.

            Quebec also added 15 new deaths including three in the past 24 hours, nine between March 4 and March 9, two before March 4 and one at an unknown date.

            Since the pandemic began, 10,518 people in Quebec have died due to the disease.

            After hospitalizations increased Wednesday, the province reported that 18 fewer patients are receiving care in Quebec hospitals for COVID-19 for a total of 563 hospitalizations. Of those, 111 people are in intensive care wards, a decrease of one...

              Quebec reports 753 new cases, 9 deaths linked to COVID-19 crisis

              As the health crisis continues, Quebec is reporting 753 new cases and nine additional deaths linked to the novel coronavirus Friday.

              The majority of those deaths took place earlier in the month, while three occurred in the past 24-hour period.

              The province?s COVID-19 caseload now stands at 296,143. Recoveries have topped 278,000.

              The pandemic has killed 10,526 Quebecers over the past year, but the tally was changed after an investigation found a previously reported death was not due to the virus.

              Hospitalizations dropped by 13 to 550. Of those patients in hospital for the virus, five fewer are in intensive care for a total of 106.

              Quebec?s vaccination campaign saw another 28,910 doses administered Thursday. So far, more than 648,000 jabs have been given since December...

                COVID-19 cases in Quebec continues to rise

                MONTREAL -- The number of COVID-19 vaccines administered in a single day in Quebec surpassed 30,000, while the province reported zero new deaths in the past 24 hours.

                The province reported Saturday that 31,527 doses of vaccine were administered bringing the total number of vaccinations in Quebec to 681,487 (eight per cent of the population).

                Quebec also added 11 deaths due to the novel coronavirus to the overall total but none in the past 24 hours. It is the first time there were no deaths in a day since Sept. 11.

                The province said that seven deaths occurred between March 6 and March 11, and four before March 6. In addition, two deaths were withdrawn from the overall total after an investigation found they were not attributable to COVID-19.

                Since the pandemic began, 10,535 people have died due to COVID-19 in Quebec.

                Quebec reported Saturday that 789 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 bringing the total number of positive cases in the province to 296,918 since the start of the pandemic.

                Of those, 279,230 are reported to have recovered from the disease, 741 more than on Friday.

                The new cases bring the seven-day average for daily cases to 715 per day.

                  MONTREAL -- New cases of COVID-19, active cases and deaths due to the novel coronavirus dropped in Quebec on Sunday.

                  Quebec reported Sunday that 674 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours bringing the total number of infections to 297,592 since the start of the pandemic.

                  The number is more than 100 less than the 789 reported Saturday, and the seven-day average number of cases is now 711.

                  Of those who tested positive, 280,030 are reported to have recovered from the novel coronavirus, which is 800 more than on Saturday.

                  The Quebec Institute of Public Health is reporting that there are 7,022 active COVID-19 cases in the province, 131 less than on Saturday.

                  Quebec also added five deaths due to the disease (in Monteregie and Montreal) bringing the total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic to 10,540.

                  Of those new deaths, three are reported to have occurred in the past 24 hours, one between March 7 and March 12, and one before March 12.

                    MONTREAL -- Quebec added 594 new coronavirus cases on Monday, bringing the total number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic to 298,186.

                    The average daily increase in cases over the last seven days is now 713.

                    Recoveries outnumbered new cases, with 725 people reportedly virus-free on Monday. With a net decrease of 131, there are now 6,881 active cases of COVID-19 in Quebec.

                    The province also reported 10 more deaths due to the virus. Of those, two people died in the last 24 hours, six between March 8 and 13, and two before that period.

                    Six more people are in hospital, bringing that total to 553. Of those, 96 are in the intensive care unit, a decrease of four.

                    Even with the increase on Monday, hospitalizations continue to trend downwards. Over the last seven days, hospitalizations decreased at an average of five people per day. ICU cases are also dropping, at a rate of two people per day...

                      MONTREAL -- Quebec reported an unusually low increase in COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, with just 561 people newly infected, as hospitalizations also dropped.

                      That's the province's lowest daily count since September 23, which was the last date Quebec recorded fewer than 500 cases in a day.

                      The daily average increase for the last seven days is now 700...

                      ... Hospitalizations dropped by 20 on Tuesday, leaving 533 people in care. Of those, 91 are in the intensive care unit, a decrease of five. Over the last seven days, hospitalizations have lowered at an average of six people per day.

                      The province also reported eight more people have died of the virus. Of those eight people, three died in the last 24 hours, another three between March 9 and 14, and two died at an unknown date.

                      Quebec also reported that there are at least 522 variant cases in Quebec, an increase of 179 over the day before. A majority of the variant cases are from the UK, variant B.1.1.7., for which the tally now stands at 413. Most those cases are in Montreal, which has recorded 311 cases of the UK variant.

                      Meanwhile, the vairant first identified in South Africa, B.1.251, has emerged more prominantly in Abitibi-Temiscamingue, where 100 of the 106 variant cases have been found.

                      Since the beginning of the pandemic, 298,747 people have caught the virus, and 281,436 have recovered...

                        MONTREAL -- The number of Quebecers in intensive care due to COVID-19 rose significantly in the last 24 hours as the province recorded 703 more cases of the virus Wednesday.

                        This brings the total number of infections since the start of the pandemic to 299,450.

                        ICUs in Quebec saw a significant bump in patients, with 16 more people receiving care for COVID-19 for a total of 107. Overall, there are a total of 532 people in hospital fighting the virus, one fewer than on Tuesday, according to the province?s latest data.

                        Of those who tested positive, 282,047 are reported to have recovered, an increase of 611.

                        The Quebec Institute of Public Health says that there are 6,833 active COVID-19 cases in the province, 80 more than 24 hours ago.

                        The province also added 13 deaths due to the disease, but noted the total number of deaths ?amounts to 10,570 due to the withdrawal of 1 death not attributable to COVID-19.?                           MONTREAL -- Quebec became the second province in Canada after Ontario to record more than 300,000 positive COVID-19 cases.

                          The province reported Thursday that 702 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 bringing that total to 300,152 since the start of the pandemic.

                          Of those, 282,693 are reported to have recovered, which is 646 more than on Wednesday.

                          The seven-day average for daily case increases is now 682, and the Quebec Institute of Public Health is reporting that there are 6,883 active cases in the province.

                          On Thursday, the province reported seven new deaths, but it removed one from the overall total after an investigation found that the death was not caused by COVID-19.

                          Quebec reported zero deaths in the past 24 hours, five between March 11 and March 16, and two before March 11.

                            Quebec is reporting 764 cases and 11 new deaths, including one in the past 24 hours, tied to the COVID-19 crisis Friday as the province topped a vaccination record.

                            Health officials say one death occurred in the past 24 hours while the others took place earlier in the month. However, one Quebecer?s death stems from an unknown date.

                            The province has seen 300,916 cases over the course of the pandemic. The health crisis has killed 10,587 people to date.

                            Hospitalizations related to the novel coronavirus fell once again. There are 15 fewer patients for a total of 504. This includes 99 people in intensive care, a drop of two compared to the previous day.

                            The vaccination campaign ramped up with 38,459 doses given Thursday, a new record for the province. Since December, more than 872,000 shots have been administered.

                            As of Friday, Quebec has received 1,050,355 doses of the vaccine. The government has also opened inoculation registration to all seniors 65 and older...

                              MONTREAL -- Montreal reported the highest number of COVID-19 vacccine doses administered in a single day when the province reported Saturday that 41,338 more people received a dose bringing the vaccination rate to 10.8 per cent of the population.

                              Since the campaign began, 915,653 vaccinations have been administered in Quebec.

                              The province also reported that 775 more people tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours bringing the total number of infections to 301,691.

                              Of those, 284,203 people are reported to have recovered from the disease, an increase of 725.

                              In addition, the province added seven new deaths due to COVID-19 to the overall total including one in the past 24 hours, four between March 13 and March 18, and two before March 13.

                                MONTREAL -- New COVID-19 cases, deaths due to the disease, and hospitalizations were all lower Sunday than Saturday, as the second wave of the pandemic continues in Quebec.

                                Quebec reported 648 more people have tested positive for the virus bringing the total number of infections since the start of the pandemic to 302,339.

                                It is the lowest number of new cases in five days and the seven-day average for daily cases increase is now 678.

                                Of the total cases, 284,940 are reported to have recovered from the disease, an increase of 737.

                                The number of active COVID-19 cases reported by the Quebec Institute of Public health dropped by 84 Sunday, and there are now 6,800 active cases in the province, the INSPQ says. That is the lowest number of active cases since the end of Sept. 2020.

                                The province also added five new deaths Sunday including three in the past 24 hours and two between March 14 and March 19.

                                Since the start of the pandemic, Quebec has reported 10,599 deaths due to COVID-19....
