    Quebec surpasses 100,000 COVID-19 cases

    MONTREAL -- The number of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in Quebec surpassed 100,000 Sunday, as the province reported reported that 879 more people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.

    The total number of positive cases in Quebec is now 100,114 since the start of the pandemic.

    Authorities are reporting that five more people have died due to the disease since Saturday. Additionally, five deaths occurred between Oct. 18 and Oct. 23, and one who died at an unknown date...

      In Quebec, health authorities say there are 929 new cases and 17 additional deaths from the novel coronavirus on Wednesday.

      Of those COVID-19 deaths, four occurred in the last 24 hours, while 13 occurred last week.

      “We must continue our efforts to decrease the number of cases,” Health Minister Christian Dub? said on social media. “Together we will be able to break the wave.”

      The province’s caseload stands at 102,814 and the death toll has reached 6,189. So far, there have been 87,638 recoveries...

        MONTREAL -- Quebec health authorities reported another 1,108 cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 104,952.

        Friday's announcement includes 952 new cases and another 156 from the summer that were added due to a data adjustment.

        Officials also reported 18 more deaths related to the disease, including four from the past 24 hours, 11 from between Oct. 23 and 28 and three from an unknown date, for a total of 6,231. One death was withdrawn from the total number, as it was found not attributable to COVID-19...

          MONTREAL -- Quebec public health authorities announced Saturday that 1,064 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

          During the same time frame, six people have died due to the disease, in addition to seven deaths which occurred between Oct. 24 and Oct. 29, and two that occurred on an unknown date.

          Three deaths were reported in the Quebec City region (304 total), two in Montreal (3,529 total), Monteregie (706 total) and the Laurentians (304 total), and one death was reported in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean (41 total), Mauricie-et-Centre-du-Quebec (223 total), Laval (711 total) Estrie (41 total), Outaouais (43 total) and Cote-Nord (two total)...

            MONTREAL -- Quebec reported 1,037 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, and 12 more deaths, one of which occurred in the last 24 hours.

            That brings the provincial totals to 108,018 cases and 6,283 deaths. There are currently 9,337 active cases in Quebec.

            Health officials say they are also withdrawing one death from their total because it was found not to be attributable to COVID-19. Among the 12 new deaths, one death occurred in the last 24 hours, eight took place between Oct. 26 and Oct. 31 and three occurred before Oct. 26.

            Hospitalizations increased by three, to a total of 499, and people in intensive care decreased by three to a total of 81...

              MONTREAL -- Quebec health authorities reported 871 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 108,889.

              The province also announced 34 more deaths from the disease, including five from the past 24 hours, 25 from between Oct. 27 and Nov. 1, and four from before Oct. 27, for a total of 6,317.

              Montreal reported the most new cases with 209 (total 43,084), followed by Monteregie, with 151 (total 15,986), Lanaudiere, with 99 (total 7,711) and Quebec City, with 69 (8,989).

              Hospitalizations also increased by 27 from Monday to Tuesday and there are now 526 people receiving treatment for COVID-19 across Quebec hospitals...

                MONTREAL -- Quebec reported 1,138 new positive COVID-19 cases Thursday bringing the total number of cases in the province to 111,056 since the start of the pandemic.

                Provincial public health authorities also reported 28 new deaths: they said 10 people died due to the disease in the past 24 hours in addition to nine who died between Oct. 29 and Nov. 3, six before Oct. 29 and three which occurred at an unknown date.

                The total number of people who have died due to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic is now 6,378.

                Five deaths were reported in Quebec City (337 total) and Monteregie (744 total); three in Montreal (3,538 total), Outaouais (51 total), and Lanaudiere (237 total); two in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean (49 total), Estrie (45 total), and Chaudiere-Appalaches (81 total); and one death was reported in Bas-Saint-Laurent (eight total), Mauricie-et-Centre-du-Quebec (229 total), the Laurentians (310 total).

                  MONTREAL -- Quebec health authorities reported 1,133 more cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total number of cases in the province since the start of the pandemic to 112,189.

                  Friday's update shows that the province is currently dealing with 9,830 active cases of the disease.

                      MONTREAL -- Quebec health authorities reported 1,162 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases in the province since the start of the pandemic to 117,151. Of them, 10,937 are active.

                      Quebec's seven-day rolling average now stands at about 1,180 cases per day.

                      The province is also reporting another 38 deaths linked to the disease, including nine from the past 24 hours, 27 from between Nov. 3 and Nov. 8, one from before Nov. 3 and one from an unknown date, for a total of 6,493.

                      Montreal reported a large portion of the province's new cases, with 253 (total 44,969) followed by Monteregie, with 192 (total 17,022) and Lanaudiere, with 173 (total 8,774)...

                          MONTREAL -- Premier Francois Legault admitted at a news conference on Thursday that his government is considering closing schools temporarily as COVID-19 cases in the province continue to increase.

                          "It remains the last solution, but currently, when one looks at the situation, we should not exclude any solution," Legault told reporters in Quebec City.

                          Since the start of the school year 9,775 students and staff at both public and private institutions have tested positive for the disease. As of Nov. 10 (the government's latest update) 2,899 of those cases were active and 1,174 classes were closed across the province...
