    Affected population On January 5th, 2018, backyard poultry?s owner in Prek Pul village, Banteay Dek commune, Kien Svay district, Kandal province reported high morbidity and mortality of chicken to the General Directorate of Animal Health and Production (GDAHP). Five samples from poultry were collected by National Animal Health and Production Research Institute (NAHPRI) staffs and sent to NAHPRI laboratory for confirmation. On January 08th, 2018, the laboratory result confirmed positive to avian influenza. All susceptible birds in the infected premises have been culled.
