BANGKOK, July 6 (Xinhua) -- The rising A/H1N1 virus outbreak is another risky factor which might affect the country's economic situation, said Amara Sripayak, Senior Director of Domestic Economy to the Bank of Thailand (BOT), Thai language news agency INN reported on Monday.

The central bank BOT will raise this issue for discussion at the next meeting of the BOT's Monetary Policy Committee on July 15, Amara said.

The new flu is impacting the country's tourism industry since people around the world are worried about the deadly new flu infection and suspend traveling, Amara said.

However, it will take some more time from now to fully realize how much the domestic economy will be hit by the new flu, she said.

Earlier the Public Health Ministry announced 196 more patients, who are confirmed to have infected with the A/H1N1 flu virus, bringing the country's total number to 2,272.

The country had its first two confirmed patients on May 12, and according to the World Health Organization, Thailand ranked 33rd among the countries which have been hit by the deadly new virus.
