Sri Lanka receives a stock of drugs for Influenza A/H1N1 from WHO

Jan 07, Colombo: Sri Lanka yesterday received a large stock of Tamiflu capsules from the World Health Organization (WHO) to treat children infected with the Influenza A/H1N1.
The WHO has donated 100,000 capsules of the anti viral drug worth nearly 14 million rupees. The stock is sufficient for three years, the Health Ministry sources said.
The donation handed over by the WHO Country Director Dr. Phirdosi Rustum Mehtha was in response to a request made by the Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena.
