A group of Japanese scientists has succeeded in improving the conditions of monkeys with Parkinson's disease after transplants of nerve cells generated from human Embryonic stem cells, or ES cells.

KYOTO (Kyodo) -- A team of researchers said Tuesday it has been successful in improving the symptoms of Parkinson's disease in monkeys through the use of human embryonic stem cells to create nerve cells that produce dopamine, a neurotransmitter in the brain.
