      Emperor thanks people for get-well wishes after surgery

      TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Emperor Akihito expressed thanks Monday to nearly 100,000 people who have signed the register books and many other people in sympathy for his heart bypass surgery last month, the Imperial Household Agency said.
