WASHINGTON (Kyodo) -- Assistant U.S. Trade Representative Wendy Cutler told Japanese lawmakers Wednesday the United States sees no problem with Japan's heath insurance system in regard to the Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade initiative, the lawmakers said.

U.S. not to raise Japanese medical insurance rules in TPP talks
TOKYO (Kyodo) -- The United States will not raise the issue of Japan's insurance coverage rules related to expensive advanced medical treatment during upcoming talks on the Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade pact, in view of concerns aired by Japanese medical workers, sources involved in Japan-U.S. relations said Sunday.
