Intelligence satellite launched into orbit
MINAMITANECHO, Kagoshima--An H2A rocket carrying a radar intelligence-gathering satellite was successfully launched Monday morning from Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture, with the satellite confirmed to have been put into orbit, the center said.

TANEGASHIMA, Japan (Kyodo) -- Japan successfully launched a new information-gathering satellite on its H-2A rocket Monday morning, raising the launch vehicle's success rate to 95 percent and bringing the nation closer to its goal of completing an intelligence satellite system by March 2013 to monitor North Korea.
