So, the answer to #72 is #75 (Thanks SuperNova), and the actual pandemic virus pattern is:

      #75:
"According to Dr. Oshitani, while nearly all the infected have mild symptoms, there are severe cases in children of less than 6 years old and adults of 20 to 50 ages. Few severe case for older people. Other than people with chronic diseases and people who were treated too late, ordinary healthy adults suffer from severe viral pneumonia “which is very difficult to deal with even in developed countries.”

Because occurrence is very scarce, we cannot see cleary when the case count is in an order of 100 or 200. But it will become clear when it reaches 100 to 200 thousand.” He emphasized: “While seasonal flu kills mostly old people or people with serious illnesses (and direct cause of deaths are usually different illnesses)*, the present flu is totally different because the virus kills people directly.”"

#76: a voyage history, suspected much longer incubation period

      Thanks Muscade.

So, we all could be even in a much worst trouble.

And, calculating that it could last for many months in the community, and if you are not vaccinated, you have great chances to catch during all this time, and ...

Boy, and many TV media even don't want to register and report to the audience that the infection spreading ...

But to consol ourself, we have plenty of pushings TV comercials.

Wow. This is near my parent's house.
Hachioji is a satellite city of Tokyo, about 40km in the west.

I have checked TV news and these are some details.

She is a student of a high school in Kawasaki-city.
She visited US as a part of her school's program and came back from New York yesterday.
She had a fever but was tested negative at Narita airport.
Her temperature went up over 40 degrees so she visited a designated hospital in her city today, had a PCR test and the result was A(H1N1) positive.
Other students and teachers will be tested too.
This is all so far. Details will come up later.
So, this is a travel-related infection.

Thanks SN, take care of the family, and good luck (after for all of us also).

So, she is not being domiciled in Japan for 3 weeks.
She was out through such an period maybe.

But, the symptoms appear only yesterday, because otherwise they did not left her on the plain back.

I think the Jap. Health minister is right to not give up on plains quarantines.

The advisors point of view is probably distorted by scarse staff hiring / scarse public health money related factors.

This is obviously a kind of war, war to the virus.
More money, and more resurses must be rushed to the field,
otherwise the battle is loosed prior it starts.

If it would be leaved to do its viral course without barriers, the looses will be much more great.

It is time for more barriers and more military field resurses to be spent on the civilian front.
Its not the time to spare, and than be overwhelmed by viruses at every corner ...

                  Japan's tally of new-flu infections reaches 293
Friday 22nd May, 04:29 AM JST
                  Source:http://www.japantoday.com/category/n...ns-reaches-283

                  TOKYO ?
The tally of new-influenza infections in Japan continues to rise, reaching 293 early Friday with Kyoto becoming the sixth Japanese prefecture with a patient, while Tokyo reported its second infection case. (Note: With Saitama Prefecture, north of Tokyo, included this morning, the number of prefectures with a patient now stands at seven.)

In Kyoto Prefecture, a 10-year-old boy in Kyoto City was confirmed to be infected with the new H1N1 strain of influenza A, which could possibly deal a blow to the city?s renowned tourism industry.

In Tokyo, a woman in her 30s in Meguro Ward was found to have the new flu after returning from San Francisco on Tuesday.

An adult man of South Korean nationality who had arrived in Narita airport from the United States was confirmed early Friday morning as being infected with the new flu, according to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.

Several more cases of infection were also reported in Osaka and Hyogo prefectures mostly among high school students but also including a 7-year-old girl.

A day after two 16-year-old girls in Tokyo and its vicinity became the first cases outside of western Japan, the central government and local authorities continued efforts to prevent the spread of the highly contagious disease.

The new H1N1 strain of influenza A ??has become substantially widespread inside the country,?? Health, Labor and Welfare Minister Yoichi Masuzoe told parliament, although the government maintains the country is still in the early stage of a domestic outbreak.

??We intend to navigate our way in line with the ever-changing situation, striking a balance between the need for anti-epidemic measures and avoiding strains on people?s lives,?? Masuzoe said at a House of Councillors Budget Committee session.

Meanwhile, the health ministry has started considering dividing the country into three areas, depending on the level of spread, to adopt different measures to cope with the disease, in a departure from the current unified measures applied throughout the nation, government sources said.

The new plan will likely designate Hyogo and Osaka as ??an area with widespread infections,?? Tokyo, Kanagawa and Shiga prefectures as ??an area with limited infections,?? and the rest of the nation as ??an area without an infection.??

It is expected to be formalized Friday at a central government meeting that will also consider altering the government?s epidemic control measures from ones aimed chiefly at preventing the new flu from entering Japan from abroad to those for dealing with a spread within the country, the sources said.

??We need to have a recognition that we will shift to domestic measures from measures to prevent the entry of the new flu,?? Prime Minister Taro Aso told reporters in the evening.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Takeo Kawamura told a news conference that a spread of the infection in the Tokyo metropolitan area can be contained, because the two girls appear to have contracted the disease in the United States and not from patients within Japan.

Health officials, meanwhile, confirmed the whereabouts of 17 people who were in close contact with the girls during their flight back from New York, which arrived at Narita international airport on Tuesday afternoon, and concluded that none of the 17, including three Americans, was infected with the flu.

The girls, who attend Senzoku Gakuen High School in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture, visited New York together to take part in a United Nations-related event.

Other students and teachers who attended the same event in New York?a model U.N. conference?as the infected girls have already been told to stay home from school since returning to Japan, school and other officials said.

Ten students from five schools in Tokyo and its vicinity were among the roughly 2,200 people from 18 countries taking part in the event held May 14-16 at the U.N. headquarters, according to the organizer, the United Nations Association of the United States of America.

None of the Japanese participants, including the four Senzoku Gakuen girls and their teacher, nor their family members has developed fever or other flu-like symptoms, according to the school officials.

No infection has been reported by any other participant in the model conference, the U.S. association said in New York on Wednesday local time.

The infected girls, from Hachioji in the suburbs of Tokyo and Kawasaki, appeared to be recovering Thursday morning in hospitals with their temperatures falling below 37 C, according to Senzoku Gakuen.

Since returning to Japan, the girls have had close contact only with their family members and the chances they have spread the virus in the Tokyo metropolitan area are low, the Tokyo and Kawasaki governments said.

The privately run Senzoku Gakuen decided early Thursday to close all its institutions on the same premises, ranging from a kindergarten to a graduate school, for seven days from Thursday.

However, the Kawasaki city office decided in a meeting Thursday afternoon not to suspend public schools or cancel large gatherings for now.

It is believed that a good luck will be brought to you if you rub the idol?s soles. Due to the spread of novel flu, the Billiken wears a mask these days. Antiseptic is provided for the tourists rubbing the idol.

ANA removes pandemic movie from flight. ?It?s too real and scary?
                          May 20, 2009
                          Source: http://www.asahi.com/national/update...905190421.html

All Nippon Airways (ANA) decided to stop showing a Japanese pandemic movie ?Kansen-Retto? (Pandemic Archipelago) onboard its international flights to and from Narita. According to ANA, some passengers find the film frightening because it shows medical personnels wearing exactly the same PPE as quarantine officers doing the onboard quarantine inspection.

In the movie, an infectious disease by a new virus explosingly spreads throughout Japan, causing fears and chaos. It?s a pure fiction in which doctors and medical personnels in full PPE busily struggle to fight against the new disease.

ANA and Japan Air Line (JAL) are showing the film onboard a part of international flights from April. A businessman (38) who watched the movie in his flight from Narita to Shanghai said that he stopped watching it in the middle. ?I was scared, thinking it may become a reality.? A businessman (35) working for a security trading company who watched the movie on a flight from US, smiled bitterly. ?The onboard inspection was exactly like a scene in the movie.?

ANA originally planned to show the movie until the end of June. But the airline decided to replace the movie by the end of May, considering that passengers might become anxious, though there was no strong objection from passengers.

JAL stated that they originally planned to show the movie until the end of May and ?they don?t see any problem.?

                          ***************************************

I remember some film was shelved after 911 because it showed somethig similar to the terrorist attack.

                          ***************************************

It?is a pity. I liked ?Kansen Retto?. It?s a story of doctors and other people who fight against a mysterious virus devoting their lives to save people.
If you want to know about the movie, please take a look at the thread ?Sidetrack information on H5N1 in Egypt? in the pandemic discussion forum.

Panic Spreads in Japan Over Swine Flu

                                MAY 23, 2009 09:46

Japan is taking major precautions against the outbreak of a new type of swine flu, which has spread to Osaka and Kobe and threatens to hit Tokyo and its population of more than 10 million.

Japan?s government, schools and companies are on high alert over the flu. Prime Minister Taro Aso even appeared on a television program Thursday to ask his people to stay calm.

According to the Tourism Ryokan Association of Osaka and Kyoto, reservations amounting to 360,000 nights at hotels or other lodging facilities were canceled from Saturday through Thursday.

Travel agencies and hotels in the two cities are expected to suffer losses of 4.3 billion yen (45.7 million U.S. dollars), so they asked for financial support from the government.

Most Japanese schools canceled field trips usually scheduled this month and the next. Around 4,000 schools in the regions affected by the virus were also closed.

Tens of thousands of masked spectators visited the Expo ?70 Stadium to watch the Asian Football Confederation Champions League match late Wednesday. Unmasked spectators were banned from entering the stadium.

Schools and companies asked students and employees to wear masks but the masks were sold out.

In an Osaka court, the judge, prosecutors, lawyers and defendants appeared with masks on their faces a few days ago, along with the audience. Most daycare centers, kindergartens and nursing homes were closed in and around Japan`s second-largest city.

More female workers also took a leave of absence to care for their babies and parents.

The swine flu scare has also affected Japanese companies. Mobile communications giant NTT DoCoMo halted an exhibition to release its new mobile phone models, and West Japan Railway Company postponed its recruitment plan.

Certain companies have recommended that their employees work from home and others have canceled job fairs or news conferences. In the run-up to the Tokyo assembly election July 12, Japan?s New Clean Government Party asked its lawmakers not to shake hands with voters.

The virus has rapidly spread across Asia. Following Japan, China, and Taiwan, the Philippines announced its first case of swine flu.

Japan?s Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry said a Korean in his 20s who arrived at Narita International Airport Thursday from the United States tested positive for the virus and was treated at Narita Red Cross Hospital.
