Two schools closed in Langkawi

NSW Health director, Dr Marzukhi Md Isa, said the case SMK Langkawi Pulau Tuba, his agency has sent four samples taken from infected students to be tested in the laboratory Sungai Buloh Hospital, Selangor, to determine whether it is associated with Influenza A ( H1N1).
"At the moment we can not confirm what type of infection has not suffered as a result of students' tests from the Sungai Buloh Hospital yesterday due to the sample sent (yesterday).
"However, we had asked that the school was closed temporarily because of an indication that the spread of the infection is spreading quickly among students.
"In addition it also made for the purpose of precautions to prevent any infection from spreading," he said when contacted at the Daily News yesterday.
In addition, Dr Marzukhi said so far there is not a sign of serious infection to any student involved and all related are treated according to normal procedures.
Meanwhile, the Director of Education Kedah, Shahidan Abdul Rahman said his party is ready to cooperate if there are some schools that need the same action on the advice of the Department of Health.
"In the case of SMK Langkawi Pulau Tuba school before realizing there is an unknown disease and inform the Health Department for further action.
"After carrying out inspection, we asked the Department of Health that the school was closed while the test and verify.
"At the moment we close the school and all students, including those staying at the hostel asked back," he said when contacted.
