      To proactively prevent epidemics and influenza from spreading from poultry to humans, we must strictly follow the recommendations of the Ministry of Health.
      According to the patient's family, about 1 week before the child was admitted to the hospital, the family had a swan, chicken showing signs of illness to eat. The households around the place where the patient's family lives have not yet found that the poultry and waterfowl households show signs of illness or death; have not detected patients with the same disease as pediatric patients.
      According to the announcement of the Provincial Sub-Department of Livestock Production and Veterinary Medicine, the results of avian influenza surveillance in the province in March 2022 have circulating highly pathogenic avian influenza viruses: 02 samples were positive for A/H5N6. and 4 samples positive for strain A/H5N1 in 5 communes of 2 districts, including: Son Thuy, Hoang Xa, Bao Yen, Dong Trung, Thanh Thuy district; In My Thuan commune, Tan Son district, all poultry in the above communes have been vaccinated against the disease.
      As soon as receiving information about the case, the Provincial Center for Disease Control directed the Thanh Ba District Health Center to urgently implement the following measures to investigate and handle the outbreak. :
      Investigate, review, make a list and guide the health monitoring of close contacts; Disinfect the entire housing area and the area of ​​barns, poultry breeding of the patient's family and 04 surrounding families; Propaganda on commune radio stations on the characteristics of avian influenza, ways to recognize and declare the disease, and measures to prevent it; take samples for testing with relevant cases; coordinate with the provincial Sub-Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine to take samples for testing on poultry at the patient's family and surrounding households...
      Up to now, it has been 14 days since the patient showed the first symptoms, now all close contacts are in stable health, have been tested, the results are negative for Influenza A virus. /H5; Around the area where the patient's house lives, no similar cases have been recorded; No other outbreaks have been detected in poultry, so the risk of spreading to the community is low. However, it is necessary to continue to monitor and closely monitor after 21 days since the appearance of the case.
      In order to proactively prevent the spread of influenza from poultry to humans, the Department of Health of Phu Tho province strongly recommends that people take the following measures:
      Do not eat poultry, poultry products sick, dead and unknown origin; make sure to eat and drink well; Wash hands with soap before eating.
      Do not slaughter, transport, trade in poultry and poultry products of unknown origin.
      When detecting sick or dead poultry, they must not be slaughtered and used, but must immediately notify the local authorities and veterinary units in the area.

        This is the latest human case of influenza A/H5N1 in Vietnam since February 2014. Accumulated from 2003 to present, the whole country recorded 128 cases of influenza A/H5N1.

        According to the Department of Preventive Medicine under the Ministry of Health, avian influenza is a dangerous infectious disease caused by influenza A/H5, influenza A/H7... The disease is spread through the respiratory tract, through contact with contaminated objects, contact and use of sick or dead poultry due to avian influenza infection. Symptoms: fever, cough, fatigue, body aches, muscle aches, sore throat. The disease progresses rapidly and can lead to death with a high rate (nearly 50%). Currently, there is no specific treatment and no vaccine for humans.
