    KATHMANDU, SEP 12 -

    Bringing its two-month-long intensive operation to an end, the government on Wednesday said it has completed slaughtering all chickens in commercial farms in bird flu emergency areas.

    Open supply of chicken in bird flu hits Bhaktapur

    BHAKTAPUR, Sept. 18: Open sales and distribution of chicken meat and eggs is taking place in Bhaktapur district although the government has already announced the district a bird flu emergency zone.

    Meat suppliers here are reportedly selling chickens and eggs imported illegally.
    The government had earlier announced the district a bird flu-crisis zone after many efforts made to control the disease spread in the district became unsuccessful. The announcement has not yet been lifted...
