      • Immediately following the detection of avian influenza antigen (H7) by PCR on 20 May in ducks in Damyang-gun and Hampyeong-gun, all the birds on the infected premises were destroyed as a precautionary measure and disinfection was completed on 21 May.
      • Later, it was confirmed as low pathogenic avian influenza virus (H7N7) by gene sequencing. During the course of epidemiological investigation, avian influenza antigen (H7) was detected in two duck farms, one in Goksung-gun and the other in Jansung-gun. They were also confirmed as low pathogenic avian influenza virus (H7N7) by gene sequencing on 27 May.
      • Later, two more duck farms in Namwon city, which were epidemiologically linked to the index farm in Hampyeong-gun, were confirmed as having low pathogenic avian influenza virus (H7N7). After conducting clinical surveillance and serological testing on 67 epidemiologically linked farms to the index farms in Damyang-gun and Hampyeong-gun, all results were negative except 4 cases already reported to the OIE.
      • Since 21 days have passed from the date of the completion of stamping out and disinfection on the last outbreak in Namwon city, which was 3 June, the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MIFAFF) determined that all LPAI outbreaks in the Republic of Korea were resolved as of 24 June 2010.
