SEOUL, March 14 (Yonhap) -- South Korea has detected a new bird flu case at a duck farm in its central province, prompting quarantine officials to cull about 10,000 poultry in the affected region, the agriculture ministry said Wednesday.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs said it detected an H5 avian influenza outbreak at the farm in Eumseong in North Chungcheong Province, 131 kilometers south of Seoul, during an inspection conducted before sales of its ducks. The latest AI case is the first to be reported in 41 days.
