SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - More than 100 suspect cases of bird flu cases have been reported in Seoul.
Considering that 100% of suspicious reports submitted to date have been confirmed, damage is expected to spread further.
According to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Livestock on the 23rd, there are 105 cases of AI suspects at 0:00 am on the day.
Of those, 93 were confirmed as H5N6, and the remaining 12 were confirmed.
Including the farm where the AI virus was detected in the process of prophylactic slaughter and prosecution on confirmed farms, the number of benign farms is 241 farms in 8 cities, 30 cities, and counties nationwide.
A total of 27 wild bird and fecal samples were also confirmed. One of them is the H5N8 virus.
The total number of poultry slaughtered or scheduled for slaughter is estimated at 24 million. On the 16th of last month, after the initial suspicion, 370,000 were slaughtered on an average of 650,000 daily.
In particular, laying hens (chicken breeders) were hit by a direct hit. The laying hens were slaughtered 22.8% of the whole breeding scale, and 4 out of 10 slaughtering breeders, breeding chickens, were slaughtered.
In fact, the pest control agency believes that the damages are serious, such as 100% mortality rate in case of laying eggs (chicken eggs).
The government will urge farmers to stop visiting relatives in order to prevent further spread of AI during the year-end and New Year holidays, and to carry out Japanese inspections of ducks (including goose and geese) in the AI- .
In addition, we will announce additional measures to stabilize egg supply and demand in the afternoon.http://www.yonhapnews.co.kr/it/2016/...058600030.HTML
