9 million people dispose of AI ... One of the worst ever
    Enter Internet News 2016.12.09 (13:04)

The number of poultry slaughtered by highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) is approaching 9 million, and worst worst ever.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock and Livestock Foods confirmed that all four of the four duck farms in Chungnam Province, Jeonbuk Province, Chungcheong Province, Chungnam Province, Chungcheong Province, Chungju Province, (9). As of today, the number of confirmed cases has increased to 37 cases from 43 cases of suspicious reports as of today.

There were no reports of AI additions during the day, but the remaining 6 cases under investigation are likely to be confirmed as highly pathogenic.

According to the confirmation status of the farm households where the suspicion has been filed, 11 cases (Chungbuk, Jincheon 3, Cheongju 2, Goesan 1, Chungju 1), 11 cases (Anseong 2, Yangju 1, Icheon 3, Pyeongtaek 2, , Chungnam 1), Chungnam 6 cases (Asan 3, Cheonan 3), Jeonnam 4 cases (Naju 1, Muan 1, Haenam 1 and Jangseong 1), Jeonbuk 2 cases (Gimje 1 and Jeongeup 1), and 3 Sejong 3 cases.

In addition to suspicious reports, the number of provincial farms after prophylactic slaughter is around 7 provinces and cities, 21 counties, and 105 farm households (37 confirmed cases and 68 cases for preventive slaughter).

Separately, 22 wild bird samples (including feces), including migratory birds and resident birds, were found to be highly pathogenic AI, including large gonies on the Upo swamp in Changning, Kyongnam Province.

The number of poultry slaughtered for confirmation and prevention was 654,500 in 177 farms, and it is expected that more than 24,311,000 will be slaughtered in the future. In less than a month since the initial suspicion was brought in on the 16th of last month, the number of slaughtered people reached 9 million.

Considering the fact that 14.4 million birds were slaughtered over 100 days in 2014, when AI damage was the biggest, the worst is the worst in the shortest period of this year.

The H5N6-type highly pathogenic AI has been found to have a shorter incubation period than other viruses, and the infection rate is fast, and the rate of infection is high.

In addition, it is estimated that horizontal propagation of farms by migratory birds and moving vehicles occurs sporadically until now.
However, this means that if the H5N6 strain, which is highly pathogenic compared to the past type, spreads through the second propagation between farms, the damage can become unmanageable.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries has decided to extend the ban on the excretion of manure in the poultry farm until the 23rd to prevent further spread of AI, and to compensate for the disposition of slaughter and the treatment of carcasses to prevent problems such as delays in slaughter.

Kim Jae-soo, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, will hold a meeting on measures to prevent AI from 10:30 am on October 10 to discuss the situation and discuss countermeasures.
