Emergency epidemic conference at the first detection of avian influenza virus

In response to the first detection of avian influenza virus in the prefecture, the prefecture opened an urgent epidemic conference and confirmed the thoroughness of the epidemic prevention. A low pathogenic avian influenza virus (H5N3 subtype) was detected in the mouth of the Kamogawa river in Saijo city, Ehime prefecture, and the prefecture gathered relevant officials and held an epidemic conference to thoroughly take countermeasures I agreed to do. 　In prefectural countermeasure manuals, it is supposed to call attention to poultry farmers etc. within a radius of 1 kilometer. Although there were no corresponding farmers this time, even if it is low-pathogenic, if it occurs in poultry farms etc., it is necessary to take measures similar to highly pathogenic such as killing.
　Twelve employees, including livestock hygiene centers, attended the conference held at the prefectural government. Mr. Hiroshi Saeki, chief of animal husbandry department, said, "We are taking the first confirmation in the prefecture seriously and want to do our utmost to prevent it from occurring on the farm."
