    Last winter?s avian flu epidemic, which caused the culling of about 350,000 birds in western Japan, is highly likely to have been brought from Siberia, not via goods or people from South Korea as initially thought, The Yomiuri Shimbun has learned.

    The H5N8 strain of bird flu is now believed to have been brought to Japan by migratory birds, which spent winter in Japan after breeding in Siberia...
