- On 14 February 2011, poultry was tested positive for influenza A with rapid test at a farm in Hiyoshi.
- Virus was identified as H5 with RT-PCR on 14 February and as H5N1 on 18 February.
- Mandatory movement restriction has been enforced within 10 km around the affected farm since 14 February 2011.
- All of the poultry at the farm was destroyed by 15 February.
- Kishigawa-cho, Kinokawa city, Wakayama:
- On 15 February 2011, poultry was tested positive for influenza A with rapid test at a farm in Kishigawa-cho.
- Virus was identified as H5 with RT-PCR on 15 February and as H5N1 on 19 February.
- Mandatory movement restriction has been enforced within 10 km around the affected farm since 15 February 2011.
- All of the poultry at the farm was destroyed by 18 February.
