"This is a temporary phenomenon, now the bird will fly away, frost will come and it will pass," said the head of the Union of Poultry Breeders of Kazakhstan

NUR-SULTAN, 17 Sep - Sputnik. An outbreak of bird flu in the North Kazakhstan region is not dangerous to humans, President of the Union of Poultry Farmers of the country Ruslan Sharipov told Sputnik Kazakhstan.

"This strain is H5N1. It is not dangerous for humans, not highly pathogenic, it collapses at 40-50 degrees. Yes, there were cases of human infection when there was an outbreak for the first time in China, but now there is no such danger," Ruslan Sharipov told Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Outbreaks of bird flu occur during the migration of wild birds to Kazakhstani lakes - poultry of the population living near water bodies becomes infected, he said.

"This is a temporary phenomenon, now the bird will fly away, frosts will come and will pass. It mainly comes to us from Russia. As you know, two or three outbreaks in the Chelyabinsk, Omsk, Kurgan regions have already been destroyed for a month. 1 , 5 million laying hens. All our poultry farms are working normally, "Sharipov added.

The state authorities will be engaged in the mechanism of payment of compensation to the owners of the dead birds, he said.

"I think the Ministry of Agriculture will carry out all the necessary work to extinguish the outbreak, vaccination, disinfection, and destruction of sick birds will be carried out," concluded the President of the Union of Poultry Farmers of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan imposes restrictions on the border with Russia due to the outbreak of bird flu

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, an outbreak of highly pathogenic bird flu has occurred in seven districts of the North Kazakhstan region.

In the region, territories are disinfected, carcasses of dead animals are destroyed and vaccines are imported. There is also a ban on the export of poultry and related products.

The National Reference Center determined that highly pathogenic avian influenza was the cause of the death. Kazakhstan notified the World Organization for Animal Health about the outbreak.

873 thousand doses of domestic drugs against highly pathogenic avian influenza have been allocated for the vaccination of animals in the territories bordering the Russian Federation.

Avian flu recorded in seven regions of Kazakhstan
        25 September, 2020

Avian influenza H5N1 has been reported in seven regions of Kazakhstan, two of which border on Uzbekistan.

The capital laboratories confirmed the diagnosis in the Karaganda, Zhambyl, Pavlodar, Turkestan, Akmola, Kostanai and North Kazakhstan regions. Some villages are being quarantined, the source said.

More than 220 thousand birds have died in the country. In three villages of Kostanay region, quarantine was announced for 21 days (a ban on the export of poultry products).

By early October, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan plans to additionally purchase 700 thousand doses of vaccines. Local officials are tightening control over chicken and egg counters.

It is also noted that they will confiscate sick birds in these villages and destroy in accordance with the current rules.

Half a million chickens are disposed of at a poultry farm in Kostanay region due to bird flu

Over 500 thousand chickens and chickens are disposed of due to bird flu at one of the poultry factories in the Kostanay region. About this on his page in Facebook said the president of the Association of egg producers in Kazakhstan Maksim Bozhko, transfers Kazpravda.kz.

“Unfortunately, at an egg poultry farm near the town of Arkalyk, the diagnosis was confirmed - bird flu. As I wrote earlier, we suspended the shipments of eggs from this factory a week ago, when the excess deaths began. forced to dispose of 100% of the livestock of chickens and laying hens, which amounted to 502 thousand heads before the death began, "Bozhko wrote.

He noted that the disposal of birds in this case is mandatory in order to "minimize the risks to human health and the number of birds in other factories in the country."
