    About the outbreak of monkeypox patients



    Today, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government reported that a man who lived in Tokyo and showed symptoms such as a rash and was suspected of having monkeypox was confirmed to be a monkeypox patient on the same day as a result of an examination ( Attachment: Tokyo Press Release).
    In Japan, monkeypox is designated as a Class 4 infectious disease in the Act on Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Medical Care for Patients with Infectious Diseases (Act No. 114 of 1998), and is subject to notification obligations.
    No outbreak of monkeypox has been confirmed in Japan so far, and this case is the first case of monkeypox in Japan.
