      The Chief Veterinary Officer informs that the 6th and 7th outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in Poland were designated on the basis of the results of laboratory tests of PIWet-PIB Puławy on January 16 and 17 this year.

      An HPAI # 6 outbreak in 2021 was found on a commercial farm keeping 13,558 fattening turkeys at 22 and 19 weeks of age. The farm is located in Czernik?w, in the Myślib?rz commune, Myślib?rz district, West Pomeranian.

      An HPAI No. 7 outbreak in 2021 was found on a commercial farm keeping 34,109 breeding hens at 42 weeks of age. The farm is located in the town of Dulsk, in the commune of Inowrocław, poviat of Inowrocław, voivodeship Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship.

      In the farms where the disease was diagnosed, all control procedures envisaged in the event of HPAI, specified in the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of 18 December 2007 on the control of avian influenza, were implemented. The infected and endangered areas have been designated around the outbreaks within a radius of 10 km.
