      On November 24, 2020, in the evening hours, the Chief Veterinary Officer received from the State Veterinary Institute - National Research Institute in Puławy positive laboratory test results confirming the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) of the H5N8 subtype at the laying hen farm in Wroniawy in the Wolsztyn commune in the Wolsztyn poviat in the province Greater Poland.

      It is the 33rd HPAI outbreak in 2020 in the territory of the Republic of Poland and the first in the second half of this year. In the first half of 2020, 32 HPAI outbreaks were identified in poultry, the last of which was found on March 31, 2020. In addition, 3 HPAI outbreaks were found on December 31, 2019.
