    Anthrax has been found in a dead sheep on a Victorian farm and authorities say the animal is among several that have died suddenly.

    Agriculture Victoria says it has quarantined the Swan Hill property but has placed no restrictions on the movement of people or vehicles in the surrounding area.

    It said infections were common among cattle and sheep in that part of the state and the public was not at risk...

    A farm near the Victorian town of Nyah has been quarantind after the second outbreak of anthrax infections in less than a month

    A Victorian farm is in quarantine after a suspected case of deadly anthrax disease, the second case in the area in just over a week.

    Agriculture Victoria confirmed on Saturday that a farm in Nyah, in the state?s northwest, has been quarantined and a suspected infected carcass destroyed.

    Results from testing are expected on Sunday and an Agriculture Victoria team will remain at the property until ?no further infected animals are detected?...

      Anthrax has been confirmed on a fifth property in north west Victoria bringing to 25 the number of confirmed sheep deaths to the disease.

      The Swan Hill farm has ties to the other farms with confirmed sheep losses from anthrax last month.

      Victoria's Chief Veterinary Officer Charles Milne said nearly 6,000 sheep had now been vaccinated against the bacteria in the region.

      He said the most recent sheep to die had been vaccinated and he expects many will need to have a second dose of vaccine...
