KORONADAL CITY– Over 40 hogs were culled and buried here Tuesday after the animals showed symptoms of African Swine Fever (ASF) infection, a city official said.

African Swine Fever enters Davao Cit

THE Department of Agriculture-Davao Region (DA-Davao) confirmed on Thursday, February 6, that the African Swine Fever (ASF) has now entered the premises of Davao City.
This comes days after the first-ASF case was confirmed in Davao Region, wherein the “ground zero” of the outbreak is located in Don Marcelino in Davao Occidental.
DA-Davao reported some 1,000 pigs in Davao Occidental were infected.
DA-Davao director Bong O?ate confirmed that samples from dead hogs in villages Lamanan and Dominga in Calinan were ASF-positive, based on the test result conducted by the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI).
City Veterinarian’s Office (CVO) head Dr. Cerelyn Pinili said samples from both barangays were sent on January 31 and February 3.
Pinili said three out of six samples sent for testing were confirmed positive for ASF...

900 pigs culled in Bulacan town due to ASF

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan -- Some 900 pigs were culled Saturday in a farm in Norzagaray this province after being tested positive for African swine fever (ASF).
The ASF-infected pigs were owned by a certain Edwin Ong of the Eco Agri Farm located in Barangay FVR, Norzagaray. The hogs were also buried at the farm’s compound.
Agapito Pascual, municipal agriculturist of the local government of Norzagaray, said the pigs were electrocuted to death before being buried...

BATANGAS, Philippines – The Batangas provincial government confirmed Friday, February 28, that blood samples taken from hog livestock from the town of Laurel and tested by the Bureau of Animal Industry turned up positive of the African swine fever virus.
ASF focal person Dr. Krisel Ann Ragas said there were around 500 backyard hog raisers affected in Barangay Molinete, with an estimated 5,000 pigs within a 1-kilometer radius set for culling. Over 900 have been culled as of Friday afternoon...
