Imphal: An unknown disease has reportedly resurfaced in Manipur?s Tamenglong district, killing many cattle in the region. According to sources, the epidemic has killed more than 20 cattle in the last two days in Nurathel village under the Tamei sub-division of the district.
In 2017, according to reports, the unknown disease had claimed some cattle?s lives in Nchiang (Langmei) village in the hill district of the state. The cattle usually find it hard to move around or eat as the disease affects their hooves or mouth.
The sudden outbreak of the livestock disease has created alarm in the region, especially the adjoining villages, for fear of a spread in the disease.
Meanwhile, the Nurathel village authority council and its neighbouring villages have urged the veterinary and animal husbandry department to look into the matter and take steps to control the further spread of the disease in other parts of the state...
