A total of 19 patients among them 9 health workers have been discharged today after testing negative. Total recoveries are now at 74 and cumulative cases are at 109.
Active cases are 32 and include a 3 months old baby who is unstable and being supported by oxygen at Levy Mwanawasa Hospital in Lusaka"The only security we have is our ability to adapt."

ZAMBIA has recorded 10 more new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, some frontline health workers have lamented that they are now feeling that they are being used to fundraise for the PF in the name of COVID-19.
Updating the nation yesterday, health minister Dr Chitalu Chilufya said as the country’s capacity to test increases, more cases were being recorded.
He also said more successes were being scored in terms of recoveries and progress in the cases being managed in facilities...
...“Therefore, the cumulative number of CVID-19 stands at 119 and the death toll remains at three. Like I emphasized in my preamble, 75 out of 119 have recovered and these have been discharged and are home today.”
He added that the number of cases still active in health care faciliies stands at 41 – 35 in Lusaka and six on the Copperbelt.
Meanwhile, some health workers at COVID centres have lamented that their colleagues who were confined to the quarantine centre at Courtyard Hotel after they contracted the coronavirus were left to use public transport after being discharged...

Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya has justified the transportation of covid 19 samples from Zambezi on a public bus claiming there was no threat to passengers and that it was normal practice for the health Ministry to transport samples using public transport.
This follows the death of 24 year old Ian Chali Mutambo, a Laboratory Technician at Zambezi District Hospital who died in the Power Tools bus accident yesterday morning in Manyinga, North Western Province while transporting suspected covid 19 samples from Zambezi for testing...
...Meanwhile Chitalu Chilufya has announced that the country has recorded 5 new covid 19 cases from 926 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
The new cases involve one (1) foreign truck driver, one (1) case from Kafue and three (3) cases from Lusaka. Active cases are now 43 with 78 recoveries after 3 were discharged today while cumulative cases are 124. One patient was transferred from Lusaka to Kabwe were the family is located.
