APA-Lilongwe (Malawi) Malawi will for the first time embark on a nation wide vaccination of Swine Flu (H1NI) targeting over 1.3 million people, beginning October this year.
The head of epidemiology in the Ministry of Health Mathew Kagole told local press here on Friday that the government has already purchased the vaccines to immunize the targeted group.
"We would like to prevent our people from having this disease, although the country has not reported any case," he said.
The targeted group includes pregnant mothers, the chronically ill, children and health workers.
The virus was first reported in Mexico and spread to several other countries of the world.
